350 EVO 3.917 Final Drive?
We have had many people sign up for the pre order special. We are taking $100 deposits on our web site to reserve a set. We are setting the expected arrival date for 3/04. They are in production now.

I haven't the time at the moment to check the other thread on this so I'll post my Q here. Obviously the speedometer will indicate higher than actual after this mod so a recalibration will be required, no? Is this easy enough to do?
I am not sure if the speedo will see any difference. All this mod does is require the driveshaft to spin 3.917 times for every one rotation of the wheel axel. Since the speedo reads at the wheel and not the drive shaft, it should not matter. Please correct me if I am wrong though.
Well, dwnshift said that speed is measured at the wheel as opposed to the drivetrain so a recal should not be needed. I disagree. The wheels will be turning faster at any given speed with the gears installed and will also show a higher speed than normal on the speedo and also will calculate on the odometer faster. The wheels are, in reality, the final pieces of your drivetrain so it is still being measured on the drievetrain. I don't know how to measure speed NOT from the drivetrain unless you use GPS. I could be wrong but calculating at the wheel does not seem to be any different.
80mph = 80 mph (example), unless the wheels are smaller or bigger the speedo will show the correct speed. How can wheels turn faster at the same speed with different gearing??

You do not or will not need anything re calibrated. Speeds are taken from the wheel speed/ ABS sensors on the car. We have been running this mod in my street car for while now.
Changing tire size will effect the wheel speeds and if you get the ratio out of whack between the front and rear it will reall mess with the VDC. There is someone on this forum that is exp this now.

The rpms will be higher at any given speed. The speedo will not the effected by the gearing. I assume the rpm of the wheel is measured by a sensor. The rpm number is translated into miles per hour based on the distance of the sensor from the hub, then sent to the speedo.

You may want to rethink this as the tires, if not changed in diameter, will only spin so many rotations for a certain speed regardless of the gearing. It's good that the Z is measured from the wheel. Dwnshft sorry for the misinfo. The only drawback is the motor spinning higher but it won't be a whole lot higher. However, you may have to hit fifth in the 1/4 which would be a lot of shifting unless Technosquare has raised your limiter but this should be a nice mod for many people as the isn't really a drag car.
damn March, that is way out of my time table my Nismo dif has been under my desk for about three weeks already, waiting to be installed. I really cant postpone the big install of everything until March....Anyway for me to get a set faster than that, other wise I might have to skip it....

Why is it taking so long? 2 weeks ago, you said 4 weeks, which would have been before X-mas. Why the delay. I agree with the guy posting above. That messes up my timetable. I wanted all the N/A mods in with a couple of months to run on them before maybe going F/I. I guess the 3.9 won't be part of my set-up until way later.

I can get you a one off right away for about $3500......but I thought maybe you would rather wait and save a bunch.
Mass production takes time.....they have to get all the tooling ready and they have other projects they are completing. I am trying to get things moving as fast as possible. I hopefully will be able to get them shiped as they are finished so that will speed it up by a few weeks for the first orders that we took.

That's pretty slick measuring at the wheel vs ye olde tyme pinions.
