This was my only complete win of the day. After appx an hour of staring at the heater hoses I tried installing a straight shot of hose and it wanted to kink immediately...FAIL.

After a beer or two I had a moment of clarity and I came up with the idea to use the short molded pices from the VQ setup to make the turn by the firewall and then hook up to lengths of 3/4" hose I had bought. I also was able to incorporate the factory bleeder into the pass side hose, so I feel good about that too.

I then used a piece of old coupler to wrap the hoses and secure them to the side of the engine bay to keep them free of the headers and engine. I copied this from Havok's pics as well. The lines were able to make enough of a sweeping arc that they didn't kink at the bottom when I connected them.

I also spoke with JE Imports today, very nice and helpful, they recommended buying the stock lower GTO hose to use for the larger fitting on the LS and then getting a reducer down to 1-3/8" to hook up to the radiator. I found this at Advance Auto Parts.

I think its an exhaust pipe of some kind Looks like it will do the trick, but the plumbing is proving to be harder than I had hoped, but I will eventually prevail. Its just going to take several trips to the parts store to get things just right.

Looks good, although I would find a better way to secure the fuel lines.

No chance Keith. I could have it ready mechanically, but the wiring still needs to be done.

Looking good!

Note that some tracks may not allow you on with the fuel regulator where it is. Many regulations require that the regulator be X distance from the flywheel for safety reasons. I ended up redoing my entire fuel system due to this mistake.

Great Lakes Dragaway by us technically shouldn't let you on the track if your regulator is there. It is association based though. NHRA does not allow it, but that is not to say that IHRA, SCCA and so on doesn't.

Have to leave it for now since it wasn't removed when the engine bay got painted, so it will look horrible if I take it off.

nice chris! coming along.. my oem fuel lines do not touch the headers even after i wrapped the crap out of them with heat wrap. I know some people were having issues of them being too close, there not " far " but there pretty flush to be away from headers. ( eventually I will re route them )... even my clutch line, after i wrapped it, its still not touching .

When I drilled the hole for the line I also put rubber sealer around it so it doesnt move.. its about 2-3" from the header tucked away

Word... I was using your threadlast night to start looking where the oil pressure and coolant temp sensors go.

When I drilled the hole for the line I also put rubber sealer around it so it doesnt move.. its about 2-3" from the header tucked away
+1 on this, I heat wrapped mine and then zip tied it up near the steering gear to keep it out of the way. I may need to secure it with a better line holder like the one shown above.

Thanks... I think of it this way, the car is already broken, so me messing with it can't cause much more harm.

Too hot to work today and my wife is at the beach for a girls weekend, so I am Mr. Mom for the next few days. BTW, the fans are in now and I have more radiator parts on the way.

Anyone ever used PVC pipe for coolant piping? Not saying I'm doing it, just thinking out loud.
