I recently received and installed the Earthing Kit from Guy (insanemaine). I am quite please with the turn around time. From the moment I Paypaled him till my actual receipt of the product, it only took ~ 1 week; bearing in mind that I live in Hawaii!

The workmanship is truly professional. Instructions were quite clear and installation was a breeze! I am still waiting for skidazzle's kit for comparison...hehehe.

Performance wise, there's a smoothness that's noticeable above 4000 RPM; subtle but noticeable. Throttle response appears to be more responsive; however, that could just be my imagination.

Overall, I am pleased with Guy's Kit. Just waiting for Mike's (skidazzle) kit to arrive for comparison .

Talking all_bark

Hey all_bark,

Thanks again for the kind words. They mean a lot!

I never mentioned that I accepted PayPal because I never intended or expected this post to become a commercial venture.

All I wanted to accomplish with this post was to have some fun sharing my experience making a kit and then installing it. I figured I could make a few set for fellow Z lovers and MAYBE recoup some of my investment. That is all.

I am overwhelmed by the responses I have received via email. You guys are fantastic!

AND, I am having lotZ of fun in the process.

Some on this forum would have you believe that my expression of heart felt appreciation is just a ploy to bump up my thread.

THIS IS NOT THE CASE!!!

I am truly grateful.

Be well everyone!

Frank,

Who da man? You da man!

Thanks for the kind words. I am very glad that you intend to compare the two grounding kits.

I am sure Mike's kit is ALMOST as good.

Does anyone have any guesses as to how the silver (clear) cables will hold up in the engine compartment? I want to get them, but I am worried about them yellowing with time, and looking really bad, but I think they would look great new. The red looks really nice too.

insaneamine
The original black pics look transparent, do you have opaque black cables, or are they smoke or whatever is in the first pics?

Default Cables

The cables are supposed to be temperature resistant to 125 C. However, this does not suggest anything about yellowing. I guess we will have to wait and see. I’ll also contact my supplier.

You are correct about the black. They are “smoked,” the insulation IS transparent. I have not seen any solid black yet. I’ll keep my eyes out.

News Flash – I have found a local supplier for the other colors of cable: Blue, Purple, and Yellow!!!

Thanks again everyone!

Do you know if the blue color is close to the DB? Can you get any pics?

I received the package today, Thursday, 10:00 am.

Just as promised!

Kit came with the 5 grounding wires, very professionally done, with connectors and shrink wrap around the connectors/wire.
Just as pictured in earlier posts. Along with detailed directions and a "surprise gift".

I do not want to say what the "surprise gift" actually is because I am not sure if EVERYONE will get it but it is VERY NICE and usefull!

VERY NICE KIT, I am goind out to do the install right now so I will post my results after I have had a chance to "test" them out.

Thanks again, insaneamine.

ps- If any one out there is thinking about this kit, get it from INSANEAMINE! you will not be disappointed,

YOU WILL BE HAPPY!!!!!

Default Got mine today too

I got the silver ones instead of blue, thought they would stand out a bit more, probably the ones in the pic above.

Anyway insaneamine did a great job on them. Great attention to detail, the heat shrink was cut perfect to allow the connections to get a perfect contact when over lapping the connectors.

I guess the only way it could be better is if a came up to MI and installed them for me

So I put mine in, very easy install, except for the one 10mm bolt I dropped into the front bumber area. Be careful on your install because retreaving lost/dropped bolts is DIFFICULT!

Total time (with bolt retreaval) 1 hour 20 minutes.

So now here goes my review:

Drove it approximately 30 miles since install. Car seams smoother. Can I say for sure, no, do I think so, yes!

What does that mean? If you got $75.00 extra dollars and are interested in a possible smoother engine, GET ONE FROM INSANEAMINE.

He did EVERYTHING he said he would, and VERY PROFESSIONALLY!
If it cost $40.00 to do on your own, and you are thinking about doing it yourself, FORGET IT, pay the extra 30 bucks and get it done RIGHT, in the correct lengths with the correct connectors and shrink wrap that you will not put on.

IT IS WORTH IT, I PROMISE!

hey guys, just a heads up, this is a damn good deal I just found out. if you do not own a crimper such as the one he showed, they cost about 60$ and up. if you can find one to buy.

I just got back from the store. bought the cable for 2$ a foot, blue monster cable. and connectors for 3$ a pair, got 5 pairs.

now I needed to crimp, no crimper, I plan to solder them instead, should offer an even better connection, but its gonna be absolute HELL to do on 4 gauge wire. I will likely need a blow torch to make it work.

just wanted to let you guys know, easy kit to make but only if you have a crimper, if not, seek help.

Wink Crimp!

Actually...

I bought that big a$$ crimp from Home Depot for just around 30 bones!

Not trying to put myself out of business here – but – if any of you want to make the investment… there you have it.

Happy Crimping!
