Default Silver Cables?!?!?

I have tried to stress the following to others who have purchased my Grounding Kit and made the suggestion of using Silver cables...

The Grounding Kit simply provides a conduit in which to discharge electronic noise! No data is being transferred. This is not a high-end audio install.

Also, silver is cost prohibitive. Has anyone checked the cost of silver speaker cables? They are outrageous. Imagine me trying to buy that stuff by the hundred-foot roll!

Here are some hard facts:

Wire Gauge Resistance per foot:

4 .000292
6 .000465
8 .000739
10 .00118
12 .00187
14 .00297
16 .00473
18 .00751
20 .0119
22 .0190
24 .0302
26 .0480
28 .0764

Resistivities at room temp:

Element Electrical resistivity (micro ohm/cm)

Aluminum 2.655
Copper 1.678
Gold 2.24
Silver 1.586
Platinum 10.5

As you can see copper is very close to silver anyway.

Default I'm try'n'

I know I said I wouldn't ship till Saturday...

But the response has been so tremendous. Thank you all. I have a gang of these kits to ship out. I will try to go to the Post Office today and tomorrow.

AND, yes, Chazz, yours is in the first group group! I hope you like 'em.

Be well everyone and have a very Merry X-mas!

Peace.

Merry X-mas (mm...or maybe Z-mas ) to you too insaneamine!

I received my kit on Tuesday. I'm waiting for my replacement wheels to be installed (today ) after which I'll bolt that bad boy on. You really did a great job. I was pleasantly surprised to find the bolts/washers included!

Thanks again and HO HO HO!!

I have the cable, but having a hard time finding lugs at local store (not to mention heatshrink thats not in the 100ft range)

Cool Parts...

Again, I don't mean to kill my business...

But for the DIY'rs, search for "4 gauge ring terminals." You can find them online. Look for http://www.scosche.com/efx/

Repeat after me... Google is your friend!!! Seek and yee shall find.

I get most everything from a local audio installation and supply shop. Pelican Electronics.

Heat shrink can be found at any full service electronics supply house. I use 1/2 inch. I get it in 3 ft lengths.

Big daddy crimp - Home Depot...

However, aside from all this, I can still make you a set! ;p

Stay cool!

Default stupid question

Custom grounding will benefit us automatic transmission drivers too right?

dude i'm not mechanically inclined. i don't have the time to run around and buy all the parts for the DIY. therefore it's very convenient to pay you a few extra dollars to (DIFM)=do it for me.

Default Another satisfied customer!

OK, guys- I may be insaneamine's only Colorado customer, but I want to add my kudos! He was a pleasure to deal with, the kit was well-done and I'm quite happy with the results.

BTW- the benefits of this grounding system should be just as apparent to those with automatics. The engine management system is the same on a AT as it is on the 6-speed.

OK Thanks,

I'm sure he is swamped from the Holiday Season like all of us so no rush. After Christmas is fine.

Can't wait! Another mod!

Which of the 3 blue wires did you get? I'm thinking the middle one is the best for DB.

Thumbs up

Awesome! That's the only way to describe the transaction between insaneamine and myself. I pestered this guy back and forth about different color combinations for my Z and he was always curteous, VERY prompt (literally minutes before his replies) and the craftsmanship of his kit.... oh my!

I ordered it from him on 12/20 and he told me he wouldn't be able to get the color I wanted to me (Stinger Blue) until after X-mas because he had to go out and buy these wires on Saturday... the day of his mass shipping. No problem.. I'm a patient guy.

I get the mail today 12/23 and what's there? My kit!!! This guy is awesome! Thanks buddy... if you tackle any more DIY projects and sell 'em, you can bet I'll be buying it from YOU.

Regards,

iboost

PS: Thanks for the "gift"

My Stingers arrived today in Florida! Get to put them on in the morning before noon mass.

Guy has been a pleasure to work with...I think it was worth the extra $ to get the color I really wanted. I couldn't be more pleased with his customer service. I just wish he had more stuff for sale!

How does the color match the DB? I take it the Stinger is the middle blue color

Does anyone have any pics of Insaneamine's SILVER kit installed?? Just wanted to get an idea how it looks before choosing my color. I'm torn between RED and SILVER. I saw the RED installed on this thread but not the SILVER installed. If anyone can help... thanks!
