I'm not seeing those pics at all, just broken links

Have you looked at how it's fitted to mine?

Odd. I can see the pics. Yes, I looked at yours; your prototype can must be smaller in diameter or your hoses are moved from original placement[?]. If you look at SDgenius (he has the same catch can as I but with the sight glass)... You notice how he has the catch can handle slide 'within' the power steering bracket.... imagine if he clamped it on the outside of the powersteering bracket like yours... it simply would not fit or would be very scrunched... if somehow it was managed...

Are there any other 350z owners with the final version of this catch can that can weigh in...?

The can in question should be one of their 'mini' cans, what size did you ask for? I wonder if they just got it wrong?

Just checked, yes, he uses the stage 1 can, it's much larger, the 350z can should be the mini can. Also, even with the mounting he used, it's gonna catch everywhere, the stage 1 can is a lot bigger than people think.

Thank you for your prompt reply's.

I asked for the 350z catch can and even referenced this thread... and had 350z in the subject and body of my email, and in the comment of my payment via paypal; this was part of their original response to my inquiry at the time:

"The current 350z configuration is a S0-OCC "micro" style OCC. It mounts on the washer reservoir as shown in the photos.
If you wanted one with a sight tube, it would be a new order.

I do have one in Glossy black without the sight tube. This is the only OCC in stock and happens to be the 350z configuration.
The original customer just changed the order midway because he wanted to add the sight tube."

I can tell you that I am bummed. I believe they told me some slosh to make a quick sale and sent me the generic stage 1 can... now I have to figure a way to make it work and it is going to be a pain in the *** to remove to empty. ugh

So, did they confirm you have a stage one, or a 'stage 0' (micro)

The micro is what you should have, they should change it for you if it's not. I couldn't use the stage 1 as it's too big, when the engine moves (which it does) it would be even worse.

I will measure when I get home (length/diameter), but I couldnt have the micro if I am having this much fitting issues. Otherwise, I would expect others to have the same issues. Thanks for your reply. I will let you know.

Well, they say I received the correct one with the 'catch can' diameter of 2" and length of 4.5" (not including the release valve at the bottom)... which I did confirm by measuring.

I have no idea how this size is suppose to fit without modification however...

I did, I will see if attachment works tonight when I get back home.. it wasnt working before, and the server I put the pics on has gone down.

edit: see attached pics.. Coolant hose runs too close to power steering bracket to mount the can as specified.. that is why I have to cut the bottom of the handle and run over the power steering bracket and mount to the inside of the catch can handle... and I believe it will barely fit.. I have scratched it to hell just trying to test fit it.

So, i can't quite see where yours isn't fitting, but take a look at mine from another angle, i know the edits this needed, were, the mini can, the custom barb angles and a shallower bracket.

Yeah, sorry for the bad pics. Yours must be smaller than mine as mine would never fit like that. The company got back to me and said I need an alternate version and are asking me for specific specifications if I'd like one made. Maybe their 350z version is for an HR? No idea why it is so far away from fitting.

What is the diameter and length of your catch can? length out for the bracket? I understand if you dont have the time to measure, I appreciate your responses. It appears like everything on mine is too big.

They are saying I need to pic a different spot and maybe use some L shape/flat brackets... I will have to take a look because I am not sure where else to mount it and have it still work efficiently. Maybe I will take them up on their offer to make one to specs that will work out... or just try and modify mine to make it work. They seem like they are good ppl trying to help me find a way to make it work.

Mine is custom measured, i took the time with them to spec it, so they must have gotten something wrong, perhaps the distance of bracket to can?

Does yours line up like this? This is with a regular bracket size.

Yeah, kinda like that after I run the handle mount Over the power steering bracket.. so it still wouldnt fit mounted like that on the outside of the PS bracket.

Question.. I think I modified it enough to possibly make it work, maybe not... but man is the hose hard to get on the lower manifold hose.

Does your catch can make any noises when the engine is running? like a faint whistling sound?

So i'm going to guess that your 350z can didn't get the smaller bracket it needs.

Mine may well do, you've got air rushing through it, though i can't remember if mine actively does now. Check you've got the hoses on properly and clamped.

Yeah; I believe if the bracket was smaller, it would have worked out alright.

After a week of cutting thru the bracket so I could slide it over the power steering bracket, it squeezes in very tightly... but it will be a pain to empty it... and it is kinda rubbing against a coolant hose.

I double checked the lines and they seem tight, I believe this catch can just makes a faint air noise of air rushing thru it... my idle seems normal though so I believe it is good.

I will try to get a picture later today of it mounted... my braided hoses get pretty hot after a while, which I think is normal.

I am going to install an MREV2 soon so when I swap the lines over, I will double check all the hose fittings, likely get a few new clamps to replace the old ones that I transferred over. Thanks for your help! Btw, The company refunded me my money due to the troubles I was having and the fact that I had to modify it as it was the wrong size, so no harm there .

Installing the MREV2 gives you a good opportunity to see the oil that gets through and what Nissan did to try and stop it being an initial problem, but it still gets in there, the catch can is good.

And yes, hearing a hiss is normal, it's fast air movement

What about FI cars? Do I install on the same side or I have to install on a driver side from PCV valve to Intake tube ?
