Default Should a clutch fluid flush be done only to a new clutch install?

I've had my 04 coming up to about 92k miles now, and I'm pretty tired of how jerky and jumpy my gear shift is. I test drove a few newer stick shift cars out there, a G37 sedan and a STi manual, and both shifted so much smoother than my Z. I did a bit of searching and seems like a bad/dirty clutch or slave cylinder could be causing the jumpy and jerky gear shift, or simply the clutch is pretty much toast(currently just broke the 90k mileage). Should I go ahead and just have the clutch and slave cylinder both completely flushed and refilled with new OEM nissan fluid, or should I wait until I replace the clutch to do so? I bought the car at 30k mileage, and had the differential and tranny fluid flushed and refilled.

I would do a full tranny fluid change and clutch fluid too. Its so simple so why not enjoy your new clutch with a better clutch feeling.

You will want a Weighted TWM shift **** along with RJM clutch pedal bracket and a full fluid flush with MOTUL.

anyone else agree on changing on the fluids to MOTUL, instead of staying with the OEM fluid?

No motul for the clutch, unless it is a heavily tracked car. It requires frequent bleeds, normal Dot 4 works great, thats all i run in mine. Brakes on the other hand.......

correct me if I'm wrong, there's no actual clutch fluid that OEM Nissan actually makes, just the OEM brake fluid will be good for clutch use too right? How much of it do I need?

that's what I'd use for clutch right?

Correct, it's all the same hydraulic fluid. No point ordering that, just go grab some valvoline dot 3/4 from your local autozone.

I ran ATE through mine, but only because i was ding the brakes at the same time.

That is it, but I would just use normal Dot 4 from your local auto parts store. Same thing for your brakes unless you track the hell out of your car

thanks guys, for the input. I'll be ordering one of the RJM bracket too just for the heck of it. I've put up with this jerky gear shift for so long, that during my test drive sessions the other day, I felt that this was one of the only few reasons that I'm considering to get myself back in debt for again.

Just pay the $5 and get a full quart, some of us can get away with a pint but...... We have done it plenty of time and got the tricks down.

Yeah it's real cheap, just grab the one bottle.

It doesn't use too much fluid, just get the bleeding technique right, it's in the manual.
