Post What do you guys think?

I just got a 2003 Daytona Blue Performance 350Z. I traded in my 2002 stang and went upside down on it for 4g's. The 350Z is awesome compared to my mustang. I know if I free up the air into my engine and out of my engine I should gain some more hp. I have been looking into a lot of CAI and cat-back exhaust systems. I have it narrowed down to the K&N Typhoon short ram intake and Borlas True dual exhaust cat-back system. One of the main reasons I chose these is because of price. Especially the exhaust because Borla's system is going for $720 w/o tax. I figure I will spend about a $1000 all together because I am going to do the work myself. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? By the way the K&N Typhoon claims an increase of 15hp w/o any alterations, but that is probably not at the rear wheels.

That is a pile of crap. Believe that and you'll end up being disappointed. Everyone says the best performance gain can be had from the JWT Pop Charger. Look into that.

I know its a bunch of crap! There is no way a CAI can give you 15hp at the wheels. Its like saying my exhaust will give me 50hp.

exactly...

All the intakes most often used are going to do the same thing on this car by and large...just approach it from different angles. Read the threads, you'll quickly be able to figure out the best one that fits your needs.budget.

Stock Z is blessed with one of the best OEM intakes ever made.........altering it tends to change the sound more than anything else

save a litttle cash and go with the JWT popcharger , although the typhoon may help with the exhaust more, not really sure. I think weve almost come to the conclusion that the JWT is the best in the intake department

K&N gets ripped out of my car soon... wanna buy it???

JWT pop charger best intake...

You can get a nismo exhaust for $899

Stillen for a hundred and so more... (true dual too)

The borla will give you nothing but headaches from rattles and exhaust leaks..

welcome to the Z club! Are you coming to the meet on sunday in SD??

we arent very far from SD and get alot of cars that drive up to us for work...

I think that's a bit too strong of a statement. I won't buy the JWT, but I think you'll be happy with either it, or the typhoon. There's really not that much variance between the intakes aside from ease of installation and hydrolock issues. Truth be told, you're not going to notice a difference of 2 whp in either direction, so go with what you feel looks the best, which is completely subjective and that shouldn't be a problem since it's your car and nobody elses.

Good luck.

Thanks Guys I live in SD and Jim Wolf shop is only 20minutes away. The funny thing is that the Pop Charger is going for $179.00, but I have found it online for $120. I don't what to do? LOL Should I ask the guys at JMT if they match prices. Probably not. lol ? By the way I already bought the Borla True Dual exhaust system. I think the Stillen is going for a little under $1100. They both claim to be a True Dual exhaust system, but they both still end up going through one muffler. Who figures. Thanks for the response. Talk to you soon.
