Nissan says so but not neccessarily true. I took mine out and put it back without issues. just make sure to remove and install carefully without disturbing the gasket. you will need help getting to the rear water hose.
For me that was the hardest part. As for polishing the plenum, it is a job for someone that loves to spend time working on their car. otherwise it is not worth it doing it yourself. took me at least 15 direct hours. I really love the look now. What i did was to buy a used plenum to work with so I did not care how long it took. I have my original now sitting but with the experience i gained, i am even tempted to polish that too for fun. Lol

Nice job!
Can't tell by the pics(cannot enlarge?)is that a CF engine cover?
If so,may want to add a few other CF parts in the engine compartment
to match.Just my opinion...the cover would look better without all the
stickers.I like the red with the black.Maybe add some more polished
items for a accent.Again, cannot see---are those caps on your brake fluid,
coolant overflow etc polished?ZeeToyz has a great set for those tanks.

Question not what I paid

not bad considering the amount of work involved. but if you love spending time on your car it is a good project
??I paid Doug $150 via credit card.He shipped me a polished plenum.
Freight was 20 bucks.I shipped him my old plenum, freight cost me $20.
He credited me 50 bucks on my card.Maybe I got a good deal
since he's not that far from me?Also,I do business with Z1 Motorsports
which is friendly with Crawford?

Same guy I talked to. Either way I still think it is a good price. He sounded like a very nice guy too. Anybody that has done it will tell you total cost of 200.00 is a good deal
