Auto Meter A/F Help Please.
Hello guys and Girls..............I just bought a Auto Meter A/f Guage and was wondering if anybody could help me with instructions on what to do......I am pretty sure it connects into the O2 sensor on the exhuast but am not sure about the specifics..........I did a search but no luck so I am here...............Thank you in advance

First... I run VERY high resolution on my screen, and your signature is STILL HUGE! <might want to trim that down for some of the people still in 800x600 land>
As for the guage, Doug @ Crawfords had one in his first Z and indicated that the oem 02 sensor wasn't giving accurate readings. He found himself having to install a new sensor to get data worth anything.

It connects to the white or grey wire on the o2 sensor. I cannot remember which one. Grab a fluke (voltmeter) and test each wire, you connect the purple wire from the gauge to the wire on the o2 sensor that is cycling from .00vcd to 1.00vdc at idle.
It may be easier to find a pinout diagram for the Z ecu and tap into that. That's already inside the cabbin above the passengers feet. Also I have heard talk about the Z using digital sensors and communication protocols, in which case you make not be able to do that. Regardless you should be able to hook up near the o2 sensor, I believe the Z uses 4 wire narrowband sensors.
The o2 sensor speaks a language all it's own, you will have to get used to it for a while. It's really only accurate at WOT. As accurate as a narrowband o2 sensor can be anyways... Good luck.

This a/f meter is a POS lightshow. Spend the little bit extra and get a wideband unit like the one from AEM, techedge,etc. You cannot tune with an Autometer with any real accuracy.
