Default Massive oil leak, passenger side.

Ok so this is a big leak. As soon as you crank the car on everything from the alternator down gets drenched. All over the filter, everything. I put in 2 qts just to test, cranked on, ran for 2 seconds, cut it off. Both quarts are now getting soaked up by kitty litter. Oil cooler leak maybe? Any help is appreciated.

You need a dry rag, a good flashlight and a helper to start the car for 5 seconds at a time. Or start at the bottom where it's worst, and go up. Post up when you find it. Good luck!

Thanks man. Problem I'm having is that 5 seconds is all its taking to dump huge quantities of oil. The only thing I can think is that oil cooler gasket. I had to replace the lower coolant line that runs to the cooler already. Guess I didn't pay enough attention when I rested it on a tire for transport.

Are there any oil lines in that area I should check that I may not be seeing?

So I've determined that the leak is coming from somewhere above the alternator but below the P/s pump. Ideas?

Good stuff, appreciate man. I went ahead and pulled the alternator and p/s pump to see what I could find. Wasn't very successful haha. Did a little RTV in a couple spots that looked questionable though. I've got about 2 hours before it's fully cured (24hr mark), then I can try starting it again. Hopefully it works cause this oil is getting expensive fast.

The only thing I can think of other than a big hole in the sump is that the tube for the dipstick is disconnected. But I am going with big hole in the sump.

Well I found my problem. There's some ransom 12mm bolt on the block near the alternator. Looks just like any other bolt, but this one will shoot oil everywhere if you remove it. Thanks nissan hahaha.

Still have a bit of oil dripping onto the driveway. Really hoping it's just left over oil from the prior leak. If not I'm pretty clueless as to where it's coming from. Everything looks normal.

spray brake cleaner all in that area, will get the oil off and if still leaking will be easier to locate

If you'd have said you'd been messing about and removed some "ransom [sic] bolt" it would have helped prevent wasted time. Why would you do that anyhow?

I bought the car pretty much in boxes. Since the motor was out already I decided to clean it up pretty good. Im assuming that I removed it during that process. If you've ever seen it before you'd understand.

From what I can tell it doesn't hold anything down. It's really weird. I still have a leak someplace but it's not major. I've been distracted by my headlights so I haven't looked for it.

Perhaps that is where the stock oil pressure sensor goes?

I’m losing oil in an undetectable location from the same general area. Can you direct me to the bolt’s location? (Yes, I know this threat is old but 🤷🏼‍♂️).
