Default UpRev Discrepancy AFR sensor

Hey Guys,
I recently received my Osiris Standard Package and emailed my ECU I.D. to receive a base tune for logging.
I got an email the next morning asking if the car has an AFR sensor for data logging and if not, I should either go to dyno test and upgrade to Tuner package. Man I'm pissed!!!!
Before I blew 560 bucks, It would have been nice to have this question prior to purchase. That leaves a bad taste in my mouth in regards to UpRev customer service.
I wrestled with finding an answer, the guy has not returned my email; another black mark.
I explained I'm a newbie and that I wasn't sure how to verify.
The build form I filled out has the info, that I assume, the tech arrived at this question.
I had cats removed and had Berk Test Pipes installed with O2 sensor fix/bung to deflect CEL. Which I've not had a problem. I'm not sure if this is what they're referring to or not. Again, I have not received any return emails.
Can you all help me understand why this question was asked? Also I'm frustrated that if the build form raised this question, why I wasn't informed before I hit the confirm payment button.
BTW, the website said nothing in regards to verifying this, which also has my underwear in a twist.
Thanks

The way the data logging is done is you plug the Uprev cable into your OBD port under your dash and into a computer. Some 350z's have a built in Air/Fuel Ratio sensor that can be recorded when data logging.

I know my car did not have this built in feature. To my understanding all 2003 models and early 2004 models do not have the built in feature.

If you do not have the built in feature (which they should know from your ECU number you supplied to them), they you would need to buy a wideband gauge. If you have the gauge you could then tune via data logging as you intended. The alternative is that you do not need to buy the gauge but will have to go to a tune shop and allow them to dyno tune your car.

Im unsure as to why they did not inform you about this potential circumstance, but my hypothesis is that they assume the buyer will be aware of what is required to tune their vehicle, and I could be wrong but I believe most people that purchase tuners already have a wideband sensor of some kind.

Hopefully that helps a little

This is in the description for Osiris Standard:

"2003 350Z, G35, GT350 (coupe), FX35, FX45 and 2004 Pathfinder, FX35, FX45, GT350 (coupe and sedan) will require the purchase of an Innovate Motorsports wideband for data logging the Air Fuel Ratios."

Thanks for the quick response guys! I have a 2004 model, so as Craig stated, my ECU number may have tipped them off to the possible problem.
Now, to verify myself, can I connect to OB fire up Cipher and somehow see that this part is active or exists?
Next, if I don't have one, are they relatively easy to install? I'm trying to avoid paying extra to go to dyno shop. If it's something I can do, I'd rather do it.
Any suggestions?

You need to check your VIN to see if you have an 04.5

If the letter before the 6 digit serial number is "M" instead of "T", it's a 2004.5 because it was produced at the Oppama plant.

JN1AZ34E84T052906 It looks like mine is older version. I also checked Faq list at Uprev and it says 03 and 04's don't have what's needed for AFR datalog. Looks like I'm gonna have to either return the package, or deal with UpRev to get some pro rate refund and take it to a tuner. Bummer

Why not just install a wideband for $200 and use it to log your afrs?

That does sound like a good alternative, but I'm new at this. I have no clue where it goes, nor am I a mechanic to wire it up.... i may end up blowing it up. I guess i could get someone to do it, suggestions and solutions pleez

I have researched a bit and found that the Berk Test pipes have an extra port for wideband sensor/tuning. Unfortunately the mechanic who isntalled it, tack-welded both ports which have a small cover screw. I reckon this is where the wideband sensor would go. I'll just have to wait and hear back from UpRev, then setup something with Dynosty here in Louisville area. Surely they can overcome this.... thanks again for all your post/replies. You guys are way-cool!!

One last bit, I check the label inside driver's door panel and it shows the car was built 10/03. That about sums it up. Now..... my options are still open. I guess I can call around to see if someone can install the AFR sensor or refund it all and just get it to Dynosty and let them do it the entire way. I would've liked to have the reflash capability but it looks like its gonna involve more than I anticipated.

Just get the wideband if you really need the reflash capability

I would but i don't have a clue how to, I haven't found anything online to show installation/wiring procedures. I'm afraid I may damage things..

Well, I got in touch with Mike Lynch @ UpRev, explained my dilema and we agreed on returning Osiris Standard Pack for refund.
I have made arrangements with Dynosty to get UpRev through them and get the car dyno tuned.
Lesson learned.
