Default CD001 swap to CD00A

So my 5th gear is starting to grind in my 2003 350z with a CD001

i would like to swap with the CD00A and I’ve emailed Z1 and they say for the swap it has the correct pivot ball and shifter fork I need and I just want to ask anyone that has done the swap is this correct

Z1 says all I’ll need is probably a clutch kit and a throw out bearing

If your current clutch is not slipping no need to upgrade unless you want to. Read this 350Z G35 TO ARM INFO.psd (jimwolftechnology.com)

well a 17 year old installed the clutch in his driveway before I bought it and I just want to redo it and make sure it’s done right

also from multiple people I heard you don’t swap some trans parts to fit the cd000 people do just because there stronger correct or wrong ?

If the tranny comes with the pivot arm and ball no need to change anything. I heard the older arm were weaker and could break with high clamping force clutches.

oh okay cool than I’ll be good I’m just going to use the basic replacement clutch kit from Z1 I have a lightweight flywheel now but I want to get rid of it because the chattering noise it makes over the next few months I want to get rid of as many odd noises that my car makes as I can

From what I have seen and heard, all Single Mass Flywheels and Clutches chatter. Some more than others.
My JWT HD Clutch/Flywheel makes a good amount of noise at idle.

Yeah this car came with a lightweight flywheel and I literally thought the throw out bearing was going bad as soon as I got it bc it was my first manual trans

Highly recommend JWT HD clutch with 26lb nodular iron single mass FW. Has enough weight to keep the chattering to a minimum and engagement and tractability on the road doesn’t suffer like having a lightweight. Did that once back in the day..... NEVER again on a street car.
