Car won’t rev past 4000 rpm’s?
I just bought this z so I don’t know if it’s a prior issue or not. Car starts fine and I can drive for around an hour or so without issue. But if I drive for more then an hour then it will start sputtering at a certain rpm and knock like it’s trying to shift. And I noticed it’s already in 5th gear by the time I hit 30 mph? But when I let the car sit for a while, the car goes back to normal. Any help or advice would be appreciated

Pull DTCs (codes) to start. If there are no trouble codes held in memory (likely there are), pull codes while the car is exhibiting issues. I assume you have an automatic trans. if you only have five gears. You might see P07xx codes for the auto tranny.
Once you've done that, you can then go about trying to troubleshoot and rectify the issue. Or at least rule things out.
