next I’m looking for a v good cold air intake system to add please ? Hopefully enhance the performance like the exhaust has … scarily

roof wrapped in black / rear side windows and lights tinted in the New Year also

 

Please don't tint any lights (you want to see and be seen)
As far as intake your car already has the best one from factory, if anything get a duct and a drop in filter.
If you must have one, I recommend Stillen, intakes that go in the bumper/grille have more cons than pros and the difference in day to day is negligible. I've had like 6-7 different setups and the favorite is Stillen, just beautifully balanced.

Everything DarkZ said and I will mention that you will need to get tuned in order to capitalize on your adds/modifications … look into an Uprev tune - most economical and will be the best bang for your buck. I will push back and say that the OEM accordian style intake pipe/tube section isnt great for efficient flow but its not the weak point of the intake.

If you really wanted to get fancy consider an aftermarket intake that reaches down towards the bumper and takes fresh air from the front of the car. Add the duct that DarkZ mentioned. But ensure you have an airbox that doesnt take intake charge from inside the engine bay - heated intake charge is no good. If you wanted to add a little flare to the charge pipe you could wrap it with the gold heat reflective tape (which I’m not a fan of - but a handful of youtube back to back tests have proven beneficial) or foil back fiberglass wrap. Essentially anything that keeps heat (from the exhaust header) away from the charge pipe. Cooler intake charge will allow the ecu to add/advance timing, which will make more power.

If you wanted to add a few more parts to the build consider a plenum spacer and the Motordyne lower plenum mod (whether you buy the motordyne lower plenum or you just trim the runners yourself). Other than that, just enjoy the car.

The best cold air intake will be the one right before a turbo…

As far as intakes go, this topic has indeed been beaten to death (i.e., https://my350z.com/forum/intake-exha...4-intakes.html)

However, with that said, I would echo the previous comments that the Stillen design is nice with the heat shield to isolate the hot engine air from the filter area. I have a V2 bumper which came with a "scoop" piece which mounts in a way to divert air from the grille into the intake without the danger of hydrolocking. I like the aesthetics of this more than cutting a hole in the bumper. I currently run the 3.5" Admin Tuning intake which appears to no longer be in production. There are others like Furookie (which has been discontinued). I think LMT still makes their 4" intake to order.

Up to you, whether you buy into it or not. As bealljk said, you will need a tune. If you're looking for big power with N/A bolt-on mods, it's not going to happen. You will spend more money per hp than you would with FI.

But it does make things a little more fun.

 

Ever since I visited their factory, I've always been a fan of AEM. They have an in house dyno and test every design to make sure there's an actual HP gain and not just noise.

 

I thought you were FI for some reason...ever try to mod the Stillen "box" to work with the Admin intake?

Interesting you ask. That is actually one of my side projects in the queue. I made a fiberglass mold from the Stillen piece and planned on fabbing up something made of CF but I'm only about halfway there. Still working on the final Cardboard-Aided-Design.

 

You can also make your own intake. Just need some tubing, maf flange, and filter. Have everything cut and/or marked for the welder.

 

Nice, im still NA for the time being, currently on the Injen intake but was considering doing a 3.5 tube from the "hose" to the TB.

 

I’ll echo this from running unknow performanc and now everything VQ … I really really like AEM. Their customer service and customer support has been top notch.
