My guess is that you can get a better launch. By distributing the power more evenly to each tire you can lauch better by less spinning and just better transfer of power.. Say your car is 100 RWHP @ 2k RPMS. Your LSD is 50% that means at a launch you can have 75HP at one tire and 25 at the other. That means you can spin the tire with 75 HP very easy. Now if you have 100% lockup you can have 50 HP to one and 50 HP to the other. Now there is a less of a chance of spinning a tire since 50 HP is less then 75 And the transfer of power is just better.

I hope I got this corrcet. If not please correct me. Or if I left anything out.

Definately more consistant After the LSD install, I can run 13.49-13.55's all day on the DR's and 13.80-13.88's on street tires... Even though the LSD helps, it is still the Person Driving the car.... You need to launch and shift consistantly too obviously... I also have a base model though....

well, guess Im sold on this.

do you use 1.5 or 2.0 and 60%,80%,or 100% for drag. and what did you run when you were without the lsd?

anyone have this on a stock application.

I believe you could get a 13.8 stock as long as your feathered the clutch on the launch. Feathering the launch can be nasty on your clutch, but you'll certainly get a good time.

It doesn't matter how many ways you use it for drag. 1 way is for acceleration so that's all you'd need. The other is for decel.

You would def. want 100% for drags. There are no corners to need to finesse and tune into. Full lock = straightline traction, increased turning resistance.

Talking about consistency... I have done 13.8's with the open rear but the power that my car is making, it wasn't the launch, it was shifting into 2nd that the problem was.. Even now when running street tires, I still have to feather the clutch to launch. When I use to hit 2nd gear, I would light up the tires(or tire) like I hit water. Now with the LSD, I nice have a nice loud chirp.. The first time I raced with the LSD, I had it on 80%lockup and the last time I had it on 60%. I did not really notice a difference.. As far as racing on 100%, technically that would be best but realistically its not going to happen unless you are going to pull apart your rear ar the track or trailer it there... Its hard enough trying to turn on 80% lockup, if I had to make a turn with it on 100%, I'd probably cry listening to the torture of the rear....

I get the concept of feathering, well not really . How specifically do you do it? Floor it and slowly let off the clutch, yes?

I like the word modulation better especially since our stock tires are feathering. I don't think that helps the launch.

well kinda but you like inch the clutch out and almost play with it just to keep traction. Its very bad on the clutch and would only do this at the track.... Never just slam on the gas in first gear you will just spin away.
