Weird how webcarconnnection has 10 more ft lbs than 350trackz. Both have many bolt-ons but 350trackz has Crawford headers vs the Borla's which "supposedly" arent any good.....I would have thought it would have been the other way around, and I cant see webcar's UD pulley and his test-pipes over HF cats making 10 ft lbs more...either way both have some sick NA Z's

There are endless reason for why these dynos aren't comparable. The first that jumps to mind here is that no two dynos are the same.....I'v eseen dynos here with people with an air intake and exhaust have hit almost 300rwhp....every dyno is different.....some are just plain broken.

Take all the dynos with a grain of salt and if you aren't comparing like conditions on the same dyno, then there's really no reason to try to compare them seriously at all.

287hp at the crank but in reality, it puts out more like about 235 at the wheels (RWHP) depending on the particular Z and dyno. So, if they are saying 280rwhp, they are roughly saying a 45hp gain over stock. Some guys do a base line dyno stock so when they add mods, they can know ho much hp they actually gained. We could get into a lot more detail about dyno accuracy etc but that is the basic idea.

I hope this simple example helps you...Jeff

Quick follow up question... is this a standard practice? Is my dads 260 hp mustang gt really only like 210 rw?

He also has a lightweight flywheel.

RodH - typical price is like 800-1000. It is a pretty intensive process. With the proper tools, you CAN do it yourself, but I'd pay.

plz dont install cams by yourself, i would personally install anything else including turboes, sc, headers, etc. but dont do cams, they require very careful specific torque spec and you have to set the timing exact. if you mess up you will kill your motor

Based on the 287hp # used by Nissan and if the norm is 235 rwhp many people get, that would be an 18% loss. I have heard some people say 17% for rear wheels cars from crank to wheels. Remember, some people are getting 245hp and some are getting as low as 229hp, I used 235rwhp as a norm. So it seems you could use 17-18% loss as a general rule but remember, some companies over and under rate their hp claims. I cant say with accuracy how this would transfer to a mustang. They (Ford) could be over or under rating the hp.

That is very true... I put different dyno #'s with the same modification on the car, some good some bad... the only thing I'm sure is that all my mods always put gains on the car

Big Show:

honestly, in my opinion looking in to a lot of dyno #'s with several headers and then race them on the track or on the streets, I can tell you that any headers will do the work... look for the ones you preffer, but for performace any will be great

wick3d350Z:

I'm planning to go FI also

Just reminding you of how you suck Polished of course. Would you like me to polish the crank pulley before I ship it

Just send me the polished timing chain cover, you won't need it with FI....

Just kidding

I found my crank pulley btw ... if you shipped it already, no big deal, I'll still give you $$$ though. If not, hold on to it for your FI project
