Default 3.91 rear gear. Anyone here running one??

Just curious if anyone here has installed 350evo's final drive gear and if so do you like it? What kind of improvements or lack of have you seen and is there any additional gear whine?
This might be my next upgrade if I like what I hear.
Thanks,

Don't need speedo correction. Speed is measured at the wheel.

They actually came in about a week and a half ago and had to be sent back to our amnufacture as the ring gear bolt holes were drilled wrong. Since they had already been hardened.the ring gears are having to be reamade and are back in production.
I should have an update on as to when they will be back in ready to go.
Any gear nosie you would experience would be the determined by the backlash of the gears deon during the install.
I had the original 3.9 in my street car for 2 months and when i went back to the 3.5.........i reall missed the 3.9.
Soon........

Cheers

ooohhhh. can't wait. This is really my only complaint about this car during track events. I always seem to be bouncing off the limiter or dragging my butt with too little revs in the middle of turns.
dwnshift-do you recommend any specific gear oil (Redline, etc.) that may reduce any type of gear whine?

dwnshift, how much do these gears cost? I noticed they are not on your website. What kinds of install time are we looking at on these gears? Lastly, what kind of increases are we looking at? Thanks

I still want to know if I could drop that stock rear pumpkin from a track or LSD equiped 6MT into my 5AT without any issues. I really want a 3.5 rear end in my automatic. Any idea where to get the entire rear pumpkin in this fashion and how much??

Some people are willing to trade....I actually thought about trading mine out with an auto Z's for the taller gears . You could also look into salvage yards and see if you can find one that route.

I'm swapping the factory lsd for the NISMO along with the gear change. I would sell the whole setup except I'm planning on going FI later and want the higher gear still. But I'm sure others would be willing to sell theirs.

I do know some are willing to trade, but I would like to buy the entire rear pumpkin complete and swap it out to see just how the car will perform before committing to a trade. This would also give me the flexibility of swapping back to stock for various reasons such as going FI later on or taking a long highway trip over a course of a few days. I know that no scrap yards around here would have one since there are only two Zs in the entire community. Anyone else have some contacts? I will post in the wanteds as well. I would still like to know if this will actually work as well. Some that I have talked to thought this swap might affect the ECU on the 5AT, but have no effect on a 6MT due to the 5AT possibly using some sort of speed/rpm comparison for shift points. I figure the tranny should only look at rpms, but I might be wrong in my logic. Anyone have the answer to this?

only problem with switching pumpkins between 5at and 6mt (which is a direct swap), is that cruise control will no longer work. everything else is fine.

Did you do a complete pumpkin swap or the final drive swap?? Do you still have your 6MT pumpkin Looking to sell it No cruise huh, oh well only ever used it on some longer trips. Also is did you find the swap to be pretty straight forward? How long would you estimate the swap to take? Thanks!!
