Honking Noise when clutch is depressed??
Hello guys,
I notice my car has this kind of honking noise as soon as I depress the clutch at 4000 rpm while changing into any higher gear (sounds like I have my clutch linked to my horn, but not as loud) ... and it is more obvious with the car's moving and with the lighter flyghweel (I can also reproduce the noise when car is at standstill position while I am revving the engine up)....
I thought it only happened to the light weight flywheel, but nissan put the stock flywheel back on and still.... it has that noise, but not as loud as with the light weight flywheel on. Nissan does not know what noise is that and what causes it, so they "presume" that's a normal operating noise, so the light weight flywheel is back into the car again...
I heard people mentioning about this about 1 year ago, not too sure how long back.... so does anyone know what kinda noise is that? why would it only happen in between 4000 to 4500 rpm, not any lower or higher?
Any input/opinion will be appreciated!
cheers,
richie

Ive got it too. Like you say, it sounds like a honk but its obviously a vibration. The first time i heard it i thought someone had honked at me. only happens when clutch is depressed. Any ideas?
