SES light please help!
alright i've read every thread about this and o2 sensors and i still have questions. i'll start hear, i did the install on my stillen race pipes about two weeks ago. everything went good and easy. after about a day and a half the ses light comeson. so i do a TS reset. another day and a half go by and it came back on. I did this reset and light thing for two weeks. probably reset it 5-6 times.now the light is on now and i want to know the best fix. i do not think i hurt the sensors cause i was careful but all i did was unscrew them not unplugging the wires first(if that could cause it?). anyways i read the one fix from skidazzle and i want to avoid tapping any wires near the ecu. is there any fix with sims that tap into the wires by the pipes? also is there anything else i dont know about. thanks in advance guys cause i have to wait tell this light stays off before i install the plenum and you know how bad i want to do that. thanks again!

You had this same problem after you put your EvoII exhaust on, didn't you? It's hard to make suggestions about how to keep the light off if you don't know exactly why it's coming on. Pay the $80 and get the dealer to pull the code for you. At least that way, you'll know why the light is coming on. The dealer might even make some recommendations about how to fix it, even if you don't want them to do the fix for you.

They have an O2 box that keeps the check engine light from coming on.
I find that if I have a problem with a part after installing it and I call the manufacturer and ask a question, I usually get an answer to the question.

I realize that, but with the EVAP leak, how did you know where to look? You got the code pulled, right?
The computer codes are there as a diagnostic tool. They can save you countless hours of guess work. If you're hesitant to take your car to the dealer because of your mods, you should invest in a tool that can read the codes for you. The computer is your best friend, especially when it's the one reporting the error. You should take advantage of it. It'll allow people on the forum to try and help as well. You've gotten no hits in this thread because nobody has enough information to base a theory on. The code would be a great place to start.
Not flaming...Just trying to help. Good luck

Your suggestion to call Stillen direct for input is a good one though. You'd hope that they were amassing a knowledge base so that if other customers were experiencing similar problems, they can provide a quick solution.
Anyway, hope this has a happy resolution.

They already have a solution, they have used O2 clamps for a number of years to prevent the SES lights from coming on.

The secondary O2 sensors are there to monitor cat efficiency. When the cats are removed, the O2 sensors set a cat efficiency code in the ECU and the SES light is illuminated.

Wow, that's pretty interesting! I learn something new everytime I come here!

I wasn't aware that there were post-cat O2 sensors on this car.
i called stillen and all the guy said was, "you installed the o2 sensor wrong, take it to a mechanic." and i was like how can you do it wrong? and he said trust me people do it all the time. then i asked him about some sort of thing they have that acts like a simulator and he said they dont have anything to help it.
Wow...I'm gonna run right out and buy some stillen **** after hearing a glowing review like that.
He wouldn't give you ANY hint as to how people "do it all the time"? That's really GREAT customer service.
Oh well....It's an O2 sensor. I'd take it to your mech and have him look at it. Might cost you an hours' labor, but it'd be worth it to just be done with it.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and then I'd commence to slamming stillen all over every Z forum I could get my hands on for ****ing you over with that wonderful post-sales service call.....Pisses me off just reading it.
