Default New clutch pedal pressure

i have heard that the clutch pedal for the 2005's will be easier to push, the one in my 2003 isn't that bad but now that the possibility exists to make it easier... I have less tolerance for it. anyone out there swaped theirs out yet? what would be involved? how much would it cost??

I also heard a story of someone making the pedal closer to floor in ther jetta... is that even possible or just hype?

I just had my transmission, clutch, flywheel, and clutch pedal replaced on my '03 (under warrranty), and the pedal is much softer and smoother. The mechanic noticed it as well.

From the Z's i've test driven (still waiting on the right one), the clutch is already distant feeling...why would you want it to be softer, wouldn't this increase the feeling of mechanical remoteness?

softer... meaning it has a long push compared to the throw of the shifter, if softer or easier to push it might seem shorter and better match with the shifter. anyone agree? if not explain what might help.

Has anyone replaced the 03/04 clutch pedal assembly with the 05?

Is it worth it?

My personal feeling is that the there is too much tension in the original clutch pedal, especially in comparison to the sensitivity of the fly-by-wire throttle.

Did you try shortening your stock clutch "throw" first? It's a very easy adjustment that might do the trick:

I didn’t do this. From what I read, there was some question about this adjustment causing some issues with the clutch engagement. However, I'm not certain, is this correct?

I think the heavy feel of the 03-04 clutch isn't matched very well with the light feel of the brake and the (fly-by-wire) throttle. I'm really looking to even out the feel of all pedal inputs. Especially because I don’t think there is enough upper leg support in the seats to provide even leverage on all pedal for the proper input. I'm long legged so this is a big comfort/control issue for me.

Cool. Looking forward to here how it works out. I'll be placing an order with Performance Nissan in a few days so I'm waiting to decide if I should add it to my order.

The 05 Z's clutch is horrible. It feels practically weightless (horrible in my opinion). It is hard to engage smoothly after driving a car with a 30 lb. clutch for so long. I still drive jerky after having it for a few months.

Like anything else if you over-do it then you are going to have problems. If you adjust moderately it works great.
