Hey Doug,

Too bad, I gotta be back in Chicago for work Monday. I'm down in your neck of the woods a lot with the in-laws there, so I'll definitely make a pass through your shop next time I'm in town!

I guess I will hold off on the order I was going to make with Crawford until I find out what this is all about. I hope I am waiting for a good reason! Whatever it is, it did not meet your goal on the first test, hence the delay in telling us what it is. Tell us what it is at least, so that some of us can make a decision on if we wanted that as an option to begin with.

Crawford Z is one of the best companys online for the Z. Dougs customer service is unbeatable whatever Doug and his team is doing it will be great. You guys just need to chill out, because he probably does not want to get your hopes up without getting what they planned on done. Great products are worth the wait look at crawfords plenum, headers, and high flow cats that sums it up. Id rather have a company put some time into a product and make sure it works before they start to sell it, and thats why Crawford is so great because you can totally trust them. I had problems with **** poor companys and stillen was the worst. They rushed a product out for my 2002 maxima and the headers I bought gained 0 hp, and i spent $900 for useless pipes. Not only was that bad not gaining power they didnt care if i existed to fix the problem. So if it takes a little while for crawfords new invention im gonna have to believe good things are worth waiting for. Im sure Doug will tell us when hes ready, and lets all have a good holiday in the mean time.

Thanks Glen

All statements in that G35 forum are true except the part about the block not being strong enough for more than 350-360 crank hp. The stock block can handle a lot more than that, its the internals, rods, that start to become an issue. Doug hit some good numbers, but they ran into an issue that was somewhat to be expected, ECU tuning. They increased airflow by doing valve work, head work and installing custom cams. Doug is now trying to decide if he wants to tune the car with TS or try a piggy back unit such as the E-Manage. The multiple shipments back and forth to TS can be a pain, those of us who have done it can testify. Doug wanted 300rwhp and I think he may just have it with a proper A/F ratio and timing across the rpm range. He is also playing with the cam specs to optimize the overlap, lift and duration to keep from failing emissions testing. If he put in some Tomei 268 cams, he would more than likely be over that 300rwhp number! Just give him a little more time and you will see great things.

zzzya is on the money. The ecu used was our custom tune for plenum, headers, cats and exhaust. It was just the starting point for the tuning half of the project. I have been outa town for a couple weeks and have not talked to Doug in detail. With all the improvements made, I understand the A/F is not ideal and needs work. I did get the chance to drive the car before I left, and all I can tell you is it has very good potential seeing how the A/F was as off as I have been told.

Doug will be the proud owner of the fastest N/A street Z before long . . .my personal prediction.

I am sure this forum will be the first to hear of the progress as it is made.
