HOW TO: Install a Walbro GSS342
It wouldn't work at my office. Works at home. Maybe my corp IT geeks are trying to stop me from playing at work.
Phunk,
These directions have been out for sometime. Do you have any updates or lessons learned (i.e., things that might help a newbie fuel pump modifier out)?
Thanks and great write up!

i had done quite a few before putting that together... i cant really think of anything to add but i would be open to adding any suggestions from other members. i think one person asked me what i did with the black rubber under the pump... i do toss it out but it is also possible to file the cap slots even more to allow it to be reused, i just dont find it to be a required part
Used this instructions over the weekend, worked great, what a pain in the *** though, cutting tabs, filing the basket LOL...
I kept the rubber under the pump though....
If I can offer a piece of advice to anyone replacing a fuel pump, get a fuel pump gasket, cause as soon as you lift the cover, the gasket will baloon and you'll never get it back in. I had to cut an inch off of mine, I've since ordered another.

BTW if you PM me your email address, I can send you the website page with the instructions and all the images. You will just have to copy the files to your harddrive and open the HTML file with your web browser and it will all be there.
Hi I was just wondering if you could email me the Walbro instructions? I would rather not do any drilling or anything I am just planning on running a 2.87 pulley in the future and I just want to upgrade my pump with a walbro.... if I just replace the oem pump will anything mess up? I really dont think I have the skill to be drilling and cutting stuff in my garage lol.... Thanks for your help in advance....

Can we do this Walbro install and drive the car without a tune? I'm thinking it should be okay since its the injectors that will ultimately make the car run pig-rich and not the fuel pump, but I want to make sure...
I appear to have a fuel pressure problem and think it's somewhere between my 600cc injectors and the Walbro pump
After searching and searching the forum, I thought I'd reply to this thread for guidance. A shop is installing my Vortech, UTEC, injectors, pump, and Techno flashed ECU. Apparently the fuel PSI is ~70 and Techno suggested to drill out an oriface....I've read NOT to do that! The shop told me this morning they're installing resistors of some sort to drop the fuel pressure. Maybe that'll work but I read about your "OEM like fuel properties" and would really like to have my FI create power that way. The whole kit should work seemlessly right (no hesitation, sputtering or backfiring)?
Can you please share some knowledge that'll allow my installation to be flawless? Vendor and I had a falling out so I can't get assistance there.

Follow the link posted in this thread with the instructions. If you follow the steps about modifying the regulator and swirl jet it will take care of your fuel pressure.
What is happening is that your larger fuel pump is overwhelming the regulation system. When you are at idle and low RPM/Load the amount of return fuel is high. Nearly all the fuel is being bypassed at the regulator is flowing thru the regulator and thru the internal passages in the pump for the venturi systems.
the first step is to open up the regulator outlet so that the regulator is capable of handling the greater flow.
the next step is to open up the swirl jet to relieve pressure in the internal passage ways so that the regulator can do its job.
there is nothing bad about doing these procedures. The thing that you are not supposed to do is drill holes in the canister, which i doubt anyone tells anyone to do anymore.
