OK...I did not read through 47+ pages of this forum. I just wanted to know how much an entire LS2 swap will cost. I know that SIKKY kit is $2200. I live in PA and we have inspections so I would need to keep the OBDII port so that it can be connected and used for inspection. Also I was wondering if the whipple supercharger would fit in the 350z engine bay with the LS2? That would be nice to put that on and make 600rwhp.

$15,000-$20,000 for a decent but basic setup. $20,000-$30,000 for a more hardcore setup.

Any supercharger setup should fit. The roots style will have plenty of room for hood clearance. The LS motor fits alot lower than the VQ. Also if you use the fueled racing kit you will have more than enough room for the front mounted superchargers like vortech and procharger.

Same here and I don't regret one penny of it. By far the best thing I have ever done but I think people like you and I who don't use our cars as daily drivers get the most fun out of the swap. Just wait until you start driving yours.

OK...what about the OBDII issue? I agree that it would be well worth the money.

No matter what you do you will not legally pass emissions. If you truly need to pass OBDII you probably shouldn't have done the swap.

I did not do the swap yet. Just trying to research before hand. There has to be a way to get the OBDII to work. Not concerned about emissions that is not what Im asking. Im asking if they can physically plug into the OBDII port and check the ECU for codes and see if ECU is OK if there are none then I can pass inspection. No worried about emissions. I know places here that will just plug the car to OBDII port and if ECU says its ready to test with no codes they do not even check emissions and give sticker. Thats all I need.

You would have to put simulators for all inputs on the Z ECU or get someone to disable a lot on the Z ECU.. You are talking a tremendous amount of time and money to take either route and you most likely have to get the Z ECU flashed somehow.

Mines a little over $10k right now, but I still don't have my gauge cluster and exhaust setup. Plus it's getting turbo'd over the winter.... So there's more money gone..

Does anyone know the length of the throttle cable needed? I was told to mate the 300zx cable with the S13 pedal but cant find that cable anywhere. Any suggestions?

Buy a Lokar universal LS cable and cut it to length.

Cant I just use the GM ECU and OBDII port? Anyway I spoke with a shop that does LS swaps and they say they got the OBDII port working. No problems.

i used a stock LS1 cable and 240 pedal worked perfectly.

You can use the OBD2 scan port for the GM ECU but it will read as a GM vin not your Z vin. If they only use to to see if any codes are being thrown you are fine. If you have to pass a sniffer test you will have to make a custom CAT setup with your exhaust because most kits come with long tubes but its possible. Just check with your local emissions tester to see what they do its different in different states. You can also look in to registering the car differently than a daily driver something that doesnt require testing if you are only using it X many amount of miles a year.

Hope this helps some.

YES! This is what I was talking about. I know several shops up here that only want to plug in OBDII to see if you have no codes and they will give you a sticker. No sniffer crap at all. Taht is all I need to pass....no SES codes. Thanks!

What I really want to do is get an LS engine 6.0 or 6.2L and then put a cam in it and then the whipple 2.9L supercharger on it 6.5psi pulley and call it a day...hope to make like 600whp stock block with that setup. Then Im good.

Well finally got my car to fire! After hours on the phone with chasebays and even more by myself with a test light snd volt meter, i figured out all the issues. The chasebays harness main power plug was wired wrong, the fuel pump and ignition relays were wired wrong, it had the wrong coilpack plugs and i needed more ground straps to the engine. Finally got it fired and pissed off the neibors! Few more things to button up and it will be ready.

Hell yea told you they had everything wrong for the chassis plugs and just hard wire everything as a race setup with individual fuses relays and switches to find out if the engine side was even wired correctly. Glad you got everything figured out if you need any other help then for sure let me know.
