I had mine installed by the dealer and they used the tape. So far has held up fine. I've only had the car 2 months though.

The black piece on the top of the lip is not double sided tape but rather a rubber seal that is taped to the lip but not the bumper.

It uses the "push pins" to hold it in place. You do mount a rail with pop rivets to mount the lip to. As westpak stated, the rubber piece at the top is a seal. Some holes are drilled for posts to go through, and nuts are applied to the posts. I used it to cover scrapes on the front bumper, and since then, since I didn't paint it, it has suffered a few scrapes on the underside, not visable from above. But no paint means no paint chips, unlike my hood and front bumper.

If you have a Track, do you have to take off the front under diffuser to put the NISMO lip on?
