Default Got my LED side markers from StrictlyZ.com! ~pics~

Just got my set in the mail yesterday. Thanks Yuichi! Ordered Tue, rec. Thu! Now if I only had a car to put them on. They look very nice and the mod is clean. They came with detailed photo instructions on removing the bumper and splicing them into the city lights. There are three small holes drilled in the face of the reflector at the points of the molded "Z dots" where the LEDs are placed. They are really not noticable from a normal viewing distance and appear very close to stock when not lit. The LEDs are clear and light up amber. Looks like the reason they did this instead of embedding the LEDs within the reflector is to get the three pinpoint dots of light when lit, otherwise, the light would be more diffuse and light the whole reflector up. All that protrudes from the back of the stock assembly are the two wires that that splice into the city lights and a couple of vampire clips. All cross-wiring for the LEDs and any resistors (if there are any) are concealed within the assembly. Overall, I'm impressed and very happy with the purchase. I might splice them in on my current car just to see them lit.

On another note, as I was confirming my order with Yuichi via e-mail, I brought up the possibility of the upper tail light mod some of us were interested in and directed him to the thread on it. He e-mailed me back saying he thought it over and liked the idea; they now have a set of tail lights on order to start development. He said he'd keep us posted.

Hmm... it looks like it comes only in amber. Are there any plans of making them in clear??

I beleive they have been working on getting the clears but have been waiting on parts from japan. Thay will be more expensive b/c they have to get them from there. The US OEM ones are pretty cheap and can be obtained here, so they started with those.

Sure. Check here: http://www.clearcorners.com/products...3/F_srflx_LED/ for what you are looking for. These are more elaborate (and therefore a little more expensive), but it's exactly what you are referring to.

Is it possible to use the original sidemarker so there will be no screw holes there?

Not quite sure what you're talking about. These are original OEM sidemarkers. If you are referring to the set-up shown here except without the LEDs showing through the surface of the reflector, you probably can, but it may not light up with the three pinpoint dots of light; it may light the whole reflector with a more diffuse light. See the link to Clearcorners.com for something like this. The goal of StrictlyZ.com was to create something more like the lights on the original concept car and maintain the 3 "Z dot" pattern that runs throughout the car. As I stated earlier, the LEDs are not really that apparent when not lit from a normal viewing distance.

Right, there are holes there, but they are filled by the LEDs which are clear. They really don't show as much as the pictures imply.

MustGoFastR:
In your opinion, will the light bulb easily damaged since they are exposed ?

I don't think so. Only the very tip of the LED is exposed; they are mounted flush to the surface of the reflector. LEDs aren't like regular light bulbs either; they are solid plastic molder around a diode, so even if a rock or something happened to smack into one, it might just scuff up the exposed tip of it and not effect the operation of it. If one was worried about it, it would be easy to put a small, fitted piece of the 3M film over the reflector for extra protection, though I really don't think it's necessary; the reflector is faces to the side and isn't in the direct path of any flying debris.

RE: ClearCorners.com

This company sounds damn obnoxious. When you click on order, it takes you to a FAQ, which states, in part:

Due to the nature of our products, we've chosen to refrain from using online shopping carts.
***
Due to the tremendous influx of inquiries, we've removed our phone number from the site and handle all inquiries via e-/mail.
***
If we are not responding to your e-mail, it's not because we have anything against you. Please understand that we are dedicated to our current clients and only accept orders from new customers when found prudent.

Has anyone successfully ordered from this company?

They do seem to have nice products even though they need a lesson on promoting their company.

blue or pure red? Anyone know the colors that can be used as far as the law is concerned. Thanks.
