HID to H7 ???
Can anyone show me the fitting of the H7 low beam on thier 350z headlight?
I currently have D2R xenon type and need to swap back to H7 halogen (temporary requirement)
The H7 bulb doesnt fit in but i have filed it down to make it fit, the pattern isnt very good presently.
With it being RHD in UK, our headlight pattern has to be \_____ \______
Im not getting good definition with the H7 bulbs in there.
Anyone suggest what i need to do its quite urgent as my uk registration depends on it.
thanks!

do u have factory xenons? if so, im impressed u got a H7 globe to work
the reason u dont have good definition is because the beam pattern on the lense is very wide. Since a halogen globe puts out far less light, and it is being spread over a wider area than traditional reflector lights, thats why u lose definition

Yes they are the factory xenons, i have to install new connectors for the H7 bulbs and bypass the the xenon amplifier, thats all working fine.
Any suggestions how to get the pattern right? Thinks its possible to change the reflectors/projector?
What do the factory halogen ones look like?

Biochem7 my Z is an import and to register in UK we have this pathetic test called SVA. For this i need to revert to halogen bulbs (just for the test) cant keep HID as they arent self levelling, dont have washers and the plastic housing isnt 'E' marked.
Its pathetic because people change things just for the test and swap back over right after!
Anyways they have already failed my Z on just the HIDs so i have to revert back to get the pass, if no pass then no reg!

the incorrect beam could be because the H7s arent sitting right inside the headlight
ohh i get it now, you have a US import? and the headlight beam pattern is going ____/____/ ?
if thats the case theres nothing u can do, its in the lense design
perhaps buy a set of RHD halogen headlights from Aus or Japan, and put them in once a yr for MOT

Since changing the bulb to H7 i get pretty much _____ without much 'slant' off
The HID lights were Jap ones to start with, its the changing of the bulb which has caused the pattern to deteriorate.

Is it possible to just purchase a set of non-hid headlamps, use them for the test then sell them after your done? Or keep them for the next test. I know it takes some modification, but seems like you have no choice?
