Well...I don't know about the laws of other states, but here in WI it is the law for us to have plates on both front and back also, but we only have to have the license applied for on the rear until our real plates arrive. We don't have to do any "inspection" like you suggest, so I guess even though we have to have them front and back...we still don't have it as bad as you. Sucks. Pack up and move...that will teach those law makers!

Audiopat,
How is the bracket fastened to the bumper? how many screws, 2 or 4? Is it in an H shape? How much do you anticipate selling it for?

The concensus here is that you are right. My sources here say VA is the same, rear only. So it should be a moot point, since I can say I don't have any plates. I'm just going nuts, I need Z car .

No holes in the bodywork at all Anticipated retail will be $39.95 for the bracket and all hardware. I'm planing on including chrome hardware to attach your license plate and frame to the bracket The brackets are being made from black hard anodized aluminum with 18-8 stainless steel mounting hardware. First class all the way

Not to make things difficult over a couple fasteners...but I vote for single slotted brushed stainless steel heads. Taking perfection to the extreem!

AudioPat,
Could you provide us with a digital view from perfect 90 degrees? I'm curious if you can capture the depth of the front of the plate relative to the nose of the car? Take the pic from same height as the plate itself if you would. Thanks.

PS. I saw the one with your car in the lineup...but it doesn't show what I'm curious to see.

I should be posting ordering details by a week from tomorrow

I'll post here but probably put the thread in the 'Classified' section to keep threads in their proper place

Thanks to all for the vote of confidence

Sooo, you must be using the hidden spot for the tow bar connection. Very clever. I will be interested in purchasing one once I see a copy. Let me know if you need anyone to "hawk" it on the east coast.

A funny quick update... as I said last week, I argued/explained to the dealer "not to mount the stock bracket, drill the holes, etc". Well while I was there I had ordered a gasket I needed for my other car, and decided to go tonight to pick it up and make sure the mechanics remembered me, and the correct license mounting procedures . When I 1st walked in there was a new Z being prepped and already had the stock plastic box screwed to the font end. I said, in a nice loud voice, "I hope they asked the owner if he wanted that bracket mounted before they did that to his car?". The 1st guy said something about that's what you get in VA... and I walked on. But by then the parts manager saw me and said hi and was telling me that he wanted to see the bracket I was getting and would like some if they looked good, and before he could finshm the the lead mechanic walked up and said, Hi Mr.... and he recited my VIN." I think they know who I am and what I want. Now if the car (and new license bracket) would just get here!

I can't wait much longer..

Your reputation now preceeds you...I hope you don't let us down if they actually forget and drill those nasty holes. I think you could kick em in the ding ding and be completely justified. (attempt at juvenile humor)

Picked up the brackets today and they look great

Anyone wanting to order here is the deal

The brackets have a suggested retail of $39.95 plus tax, shipping and handeling.

I will reduce the price to $36 and include shipping and tax if applicable for the first 100 who order.

Send check or money order to

Up Front Enterprises
P.O. Box 942007
Simi Valley, CA 93094-2007

ask for 'Zee-Bracket'

Thanks to everyone for their support on this project
