does anyone have experience with the kits you see on ebay? such as http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/350Z-...=p4506.c0.m245

I don't know much about this stuff so a all in one kit would be very convenient.

The E-Bay kits only cover either the steering wheel cluster or the triple gauge cluster at the top of the center console. They do NOT cover the door handles, radio, navigation, seat control switches or the AC controls.

I don't know where they come up with saving $300. That's BS. Do a search on Ebay for PLCC-2 Blue and you will see you can buy 50 LEDs for $15.99 sometimes including shipping. Takes about a week to get them from China but every time I have ordered, it was good. Also, they don't mention that you have to get new gauge faces for these to work. I've seen their instructions. They don't cover significant details on how to put 2 contact LEDs onto a 4 contact location.

50 would cover all the places where those types of LEDs go but you would need some other LEDs depending on which year your car is.

For a detailed list of the LEDs you would need and a full DIY, go to https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-an...onversion.html

Go to mouser.com they will be the cheapest route. Blue water clear always looks nice. Kenny

There is a convenience factor going with Mouser but the pricing on the actual LED's is not cheaper. It's about double what I've found on E-Bay.

Mouser is quoting a Blue PLCC-2 at $.77 each when buying 50. Before shipping that's roughly $35.00.

E-Bay has 50 for $14.99

My thought is that any of the vendors on there that have thousands of transactions and a high positive feedback rating are trustworthy andwill be able to bundle the various types of LEDs in one shipment.

I went with all ebay leds too. Never had a problem with any of my orders. The shipping was the only down side, took about a 7-12 days to get my orders.

Would turning the colors to a more amber-orange be the same process? I'm not looking for a bright RED. More like the color of a BMW or STI...its amberish red/orange.

I havent seen any LED's this color...

Yes but you might be able to keep the stock gauge faces. The trick would be finding the right color. Check those forums and could probably find.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how many shades of amber or orange there would be. But, whatever you find, maybe use the triple gauge cluster as a test mule, see how that comes out. Only takes 10 LEDs and not much work getting it apart.

Check with blackcatcustom.com on whether or not they sell something with an amber backing and maybe use white LEDs.

Would take some research I expect.
