trouble with new L.e.d. turn signal
hey guys i just bought l.e.d. front turn signals (7440). they fit perfect but when i use them, the blinker blinks fast as hell!!!... what do i need to do to make them work safely and ruin anything???
That's because the new LED light is using less power so your car thinks your light is about to go out so it makes your turn signal blink faster as a warning sign to change you lights for a new one.
You need to get two load registers, one for each side of the car.
I had this issue as well so I just decided to get chrome plated turn signal. They turn amber when they are lighted up but are chrome coloured to match the light housing when they aren't being used. So no need to use LED signals.
Good luck.

get the load register at www.superbrightleds.com
They stop the lights from blinking so fast and register them at normal speed. They go under the hood and connect to your turn signal wire. You'll have to splice the wire and tape it back with the load register splicing. There are directions that come with them when you purchase them.

You can go with four 6 ohm resistors and it's a bit more work but each one is going to disipate less heat than going with just two. I'm running two with the things mounted up to the support brackets for the front bumper. This things get too hot to touch after about 10 minutes of blinking (which is a long time to change lanes
unless you do 2 3 ohm resistors, then yes.
