Default magic touch sensitive doors..

saw it on overhaulin and in car and driver a few times...i found a pic on their site with a Z that has it done...it leaves the outline of the handle in the door all you do is unlock from the remote then touch the door and it pops open...looks pretty cool actually

dont know if this Z belongs to anyone on here sorry for using your pic.

thats what im saying...im thinkin about getting it too....you cant order yet..but heres the link

http://www.lafranceautoworks.com/

i guess they do sell it then...$399....not bad at all...if u dont want the outline of the handle you can get a sensor placed on your window somewhere...but that means fingerprints on the window all the time.

http://www.lafranceautoworks.com/available-models.php

they have most the colors too.

edit this...$399 a door so $800 just for the parts...then i wonder what installation would cost

i just added it to my cart and came out $798

you should be able to install this yourself. I mean its prepainted and you can remove the handles your self.

800, kinda high, but cheaper than shaving?

i was just thinking about that....just remove the door handle and wire in the magic touch...i doubt its brain surgery...i think if you want the complete shave look then you have to get it done

$800 is steep but def cheaper then shaving i would have to say...not sure

yeah. if your car battery dies for some reason, you have no mechanical way to get into the car. Since the hatch and door locks rely on the battery working, youd be sol. The backup battery would allow the sensors to work when your car battery is dead.

my question is, will the remote work if the car battery is dead? and if it doesnt work, then how would the sensors get the unlock signal.

also, you guys think thisll prevent the easy break in method?
