Default Finally smoked my taillights!!!

I finally had a chance to smoke my tail lights and the turn signal/reverse lamps in the rear bumper. I really wanted to spray tint rather than using vinyl overlays because the shine is better. Also, I only wanted a lighter tint so this way I can control the shade. I used a product called VHT Nite Shades and then added a few coats of clear. I sprayed on about 5 very light coats for the tails and 2 light coats for the turn signals. Because I sprayed on the clear a little too thick, there was some orange peeling. I ended up sanding and polishing for next 2-3 hours.

I removed the lights and masked the areas that I did not want to paint. To do the the lights in the rear bumper, I had to remove the whole bumper which was a pain!!!

Here are the final results. The tails now are a dark shade of burgundy and the turn singal/reverse lights are just slightly smoked. I really like how the smoked lights compliment the silverstone color. Was the project worth all the labor? Definitely. Would I do this again myself instead of getting it professionally done? Probably not.

Yup, this method is much cleaner, very nice look. I'm stilld debating this mod. I have a Lemans Sunset and have not seen one with this mod, so not sure what it would look like.

One of em's four foot tall, but not very wide. Unfortunately she has all her teeth and doesn't have a flat head. But, she is a doctor...

Thanks for all the props...I guess my hours of b**ching while sanding were worth it.
