all OEM projector shrouds are made from clear plastic.. the paint finish on this one simply looks poor, easily remidied btw.
Eitherway, just my 2 cents as the fact that these non OEM projectors are STILL clear like OEM is pretty cool actually.. so you can still iron man them etc. I think a fully custom set of these aftermarket versions painted black etc, w a freshly painted shroud, and new STI lens w halo even maybe.... etc would still cost less than OEM stock lights.

Help Needed
Hi I have a 2004 Nissan 350z. But unfortunately someone drilled holes in my headlights and bumper. Yes I have been trying to catch the people who did it but the police dont know what to do. Without getting in too much detail on what happened, I need new headlights. I dont want spend alot of money on headlights because I am on a budget. I talked to friends who own 350z's the OEM cost around 200-300 for both on a good site. But the only thing I can find is Aftermarket. I read this thread so I understand your feeling on aftermarket but I want your advice again. I would love to have OEM but if the quality is very similar and looks almost the same as the stock so I would buy it. Any Advice?

The aftermarket brand "DEPO" is really good quality lights and half the price of the dealership. I have had the aftermarket ones on my car for about a year and am very pleased with them.

The deductible is 500 dollars. I would think you could buy new headlights for that price. Right now my car headlights are being cheaply fixed by a friend so I can still drive with the car. I have bell's Palsy right now so my face is paralyzed temporarily and I cant go out in the cold. Is there a way to switch the clear plastic with a cheaper aftermarket brand so I can keep the stock light structure? The hole is like the size of a dime so I cant really fix. BTW guys thanks for the quick reply.

I have an 03 Touring 350z. I have OEM headlights that were taken off of an 06+ 350z. They were painted satin black... well i bought the car with them installed, so im not too sure if its a nice easy plug in and bolt down, or if you need to make some changes to use those lights for the vq35de models. But then i swapped the halogen bulbs with LED's for my turn signal and parking light. My headlights are also bi-xenon LED projectors. Love them! check out my pictures on my profile. Heard good things about DEPO lights as well.
