Default Calling all LED/lighting experts

How can i make this effect similar to the JDM underseat "ambiance" lighting kit. I want the same look of a dim amber light, but I do not want to pay the $120+ for the Kit from japan. Can i just get some amber LEDs and tap them into the headlight wire? how would i go about this?
thanks in advance

Sure you can build your own kit, just do some online shopping for LED's and see if you can buy nice little housings for them, thatway you can install them and theyll look OEM, when wiring them up, you will need to buy some resistors depending on the LED voltage. So select LED's, select housing, then calculate proper resistors with V=IR V in volts, I in amper, R in ohms. you can also use a small bread board hook up a resistor circuit to limit voltage, and then parralell the leds off that board. you can also hookt hem up in series, which would require uneccesary calculations. Should only cost about 15 bucks all said and done!

Seems like a lot more work than just buying the premade Nissan kit.

you can buy LEDs designed for 12v systems and you don't need to solder in resistors that way. Email folks at ctlumination or superbrightleds and they will get you hooked up for less than $10 per bulb. They're bright enough you'd only want one per foot well.

(it's hard to search for this kind of stuff guys cause the stupid search engine requires 4 characters and LED is 3; give him a break)

Buy lights then put them on the inside of your car. Then it will be bright.
