Was your template all jacked up? i lined it up and cut out the hole perfectly. The hole was WAY too small, and resulted in me spending 30 minutes shaving off excess bumper trying to make the duct flush. Anyone else have this problem?

yep, ive posted it before. The template is way too small. It will not line up with the upper straight area and the lower area that curves around the headlight.

when i got my duct/template i cut the center outta the template and test fit. Conclusion, template too small. Got the varis one tha usnhm350z posts all over the place, opened in paint is fockin huge, print from ms pic manager onto one page and its too small as well.

yea that template almost ruined my bumper. The uppper right angle was too steep on the template and my duct hole almost ran into it.

If it matters at all, my Varis template was off also. Trimming is relatively simple so it really is'nt an issue. As long as it's not to big.

Hmmm...when I've used the Varis one, it is spot on. If anyone got a Titek from me and needs the template, I can send you the Varis one.

I dont think they will match... the titek has a sharper angle on the side closest to the headlight and dosnt match the contour of the lights... better to look in person.

Sorry for the crude drawing. The varis duct seems to have more defined angles leading up to the front flange, whereas the titek ones are more gradual, with much less distinction. This all leads to the titek duct needing extra trimming to make it sit flush

I recently installed my Titek duct and knew immediately that the included titek template was much too small. I printed off the Varis template using Microsoft Picture Manager --> Print --> Full Page FAX Print (using a full page photo print will make the template too large).

I also knew that the varis template's angles were too sharp for the titek duct, so I cut them more gradual as can be seen in the figure below.

I made the cuts and used the right side as a reference point. From there, I kept trimming the left edge and top edge of the hole until the duct fit flush.

Yeah I had the same problem with the titek one but I trimmed accordingly. I also don't understand why the end diameter is so small. What the hell is the purpose of that thing?

To provide a funnel effect to lead the air to a specific point or connect it to a duct.

Well yeah I understand that much, but the opening is quite large and it ends up being very very small. It looks great though. I just wish gruppe-m intakes were a little cheaper, I would sport one.
