Are you trying to install the OEM navigation system in a Z that doesn't have it? If thats the case... it can't be done.

Please try to type with better grammar and punctuation, its pretty difficult to understand what you are trying to say.

SEARCH ON THIS TOPIC.........The OEM nav is factory wired in so it is not possible unless you rip the entire car apart otherwise get a aftermarket.

Am I the only one that thinks the guy wants to put in the console and not the nav unit? It is a direct swap. Look around and you'll see where people are putting in different consoles. You must be putting in a screen and you just want to have that opening instead of a cubby.

Exactly. I wasn't 100% sure if he was talking about just the cubby itself (not even sure if thats even swappable or not) or if he was talking about the entire unit.

Which is why I said the OEM navi would not work just in case thats what he meant.

btw-he already stated that he was trying to put the OEM navi in a Z without navi.

It can be done, it just isn't cheap or easy.

BTW, the OP needs to learn how to search as this has been covered several times.

why would u want to????

the many...many aftermarket options are much better than the oem nav unit!

trust me i have oem nav....

they have custom screens that fit your 03 cubby hole beautifully and u can connect aftermarket nav capability too as well!

Yessir, I'll try to be more of a flamer so I can grow up to be just like you someday
Thanks for the information by the way, I actually have the entire navi/bose system OEM for the 03' Z (Speakers, Sub, Cubby, Navi, DVD Rom, Amp) except for the wiring harness and I'm trying to find out if I could directly swap the non navi cubby for the navi cubby... The only reason I'am doing this is because I got the entire system for under $1,000.

P.S. Sorry for being an individual w/ different ways of expressing myself other than your way Blasian.

I answered your question in my first post. NO WHERE IN THAT REPLY DID I FLAME YOU.

All that I said was to use better grammar because it probably would have cleared things up because of the way you worded it could have been taken two different ways. I could have been mean about it but I wasn't and please stop trying to a smartass.

You'll have to remove the entire dash at a minimum to perform the install.

It would be very difficult and expensive to install the OEM navigation system into a Z that wasn't built with one at the factory. If I remember correctly, the OEM navigation uses gyros (or at least one) and at least one GPS antenna. These parts are buried deeply inside the car. It's likely that after spending more than you already have in the parts, it won't work properly.

Some other points to consider:
1) If it's from an 03" as you seem to indicate, it's now 4 years old and may benefit from an updated navigation DVD disk.
2) There are better navigation devices available, and they are designed for simple fitment into a Z.
3) The Z's OEM Bose components are low-end and deliver poor audio. The amp is too small, and the speakers are poorly constructed.

I think a better choice is selling what you have and using the $$ to purchase good aftermarket stuff. You can probably find buyers who need to replace the factory stuff for one reason or another.

Yeah, when I got my Z, this was one of the first things I learned that wasn't doable or at least wasn't worth it.
