just talked to paint shop corrosion control and airframes to maybe get hooked up and have some noob manufacture a cf lip that would cover it ( one of the + being in the navy )

...but since the people who i used to work with ( and know what they were doing ) were gone i got suggested to use...duct tape or electrical tape .

Perhaps you should consider Nismo lip finisher from Mynismo.com. It attaches to the bottom of the V2 lip so it prevents it from scraping or cracking the lip. It also gives it a lower stance. PM Andy@performance about it....

I just don't understand the logic of that Nismo lip finisher - it is going to make the front even lower than it already is, increasing the likelihood of hitting bumps, curbs etc. How does that help you?????

Im guessing its because you would rather scrape the finisher than the bumper. If you tear the finisher up, No big deal you can buy another one and be out 100 bucks or little more. If you crack the bumper youre screwed.

I thought it was to just bring the height of your bumper down another inch or so closer to the ground for more track related purposes, i.e. less air going underneath the vehicle and at a higher rate of speed, thereby improving aerodynamics when you're zipping around at 150mph. I think it's function parallels the plastic chin spoiler that comes standard on the track model Z.

That would make sense to me. But obviously, for street purposes, the less ground clearance you have, the greater the likelihood of damage.

^ exactly! That's why I don't know why people put these on daily drivers for that very reason.
