Default MPG / fuel consumption gauge?

My previous car, a Hyundai Tiburon had a MPG gauge that came with it stock... I loved that thing so much, it really made 'econo-driving' easy when you wanted to save fuel. It showed you exactly what rate you were consuming fuel at constantly.

Is there one of these available for the Z? I'd probably just replace the voltimeter because it isn't very useful for me.

Ummmm, isn't a MPG gauge built into the trip computer display? It's not instantaneous (unless you reset it).

Yeah, what he said. Although with modz and stuff it proves inaccurate.

Not sure what mads you are referring to specifically, but my gauge seems accurate within say +/- 1 mpg compared to my hand calculations (I keep a little notepad in the car with miles driven vs. gallons filled at each fill-up), and I have aftermarket exhaust, JWT popcharger intake, and aftermarket wheels / tires, which are not major modifications. But yeah maybe with more invasive mods like forced induction the gauge might get squirelly.

The digital one is accumulative.... I want a current MPG gauge, analog preferably.

That makes no sense. The Z mpg gauge is cumulative only since last reset as is every other one. So fill your tank, reset gauge, drive around, and the gauge will give you your current mpg. The function by definition, is a measure of gas consumption over a number of miles. What else are you looking for?

I know you can reset it, but it is still accumulative MPG! If it was real time it would show like 40+ MPG when sitting at idle, around 5-10 MPG when full throttle... and if cruising along in 6th at like 40 mph you'd probably get around 30 MPG. It should constantly change if its real-time, and it doesn't. It's accumulative.

Basically the MPG gauge I had in my Tib takes the amount of fuel consumption determined from multiple sources and converts it into equivelant MPG rate. Quite simple really...

I found this here: http://www.scangauge.com/products/
Looks like it would do it... but I really want an analog one.
