Default Debadging problem: Emblem outline still visible.

Okay, so I debadged the Z! No more "350Z" logo. Used the good ol' Goo-Gone and some rubbing alcohol, worked fine. Waxed it up too. No problem! However, there's still a faint outline of the 350Z logo when seen in the light or at a certain angle. What product can I go about using to remove this?

Thanks!

Well I'd say you came away pretty good cause my paint chipped when I de-badged.

only way i see is to repaint it. whats polishing going to do? your paint is faded. will polishing add more paint around the logo? come on.

If it is just glue try using a blow dryer to heat it up and wipe it off.

Or try a clay bar.

Or just buffing it off. I doubt that glue would go throught the clear coat, so you should be able to just polish it out.

you probably need a polish. I have the same thing after i took my 350z emblem off. My detailer hit it with some compounds and a porter cable and it came right off.

LOL..i'm guessing you have never detailed a car before. And when i say detail i don't mean just washing and waxing.

Its not the paint thats faded. The clear coat is in less then perfect condition except where it was protected by the emblems. If u polish it it will pretty much level the clear coat out and make it more smooth and not the sudden perfect clear coat to worn clear coat line which is what u are seeing. Dunno if i make sense I'm tired.

Polishing smoothens the clear coat to remove imperfections. Painting the entire hatch because of glue residue on the clear coat is stupid. I am 120% positve that a mild polish and about 5 mins with a buffer will take it right off.
