Default Seibon TS CF Hood fitment (pictures)

I purchase this hood just days ago, and installed it.

I want to say its the worst fitment ever.

the gap between the hood and the fender is perfect. the rear lining is perfect.

my issue is the mid of the hood going forward to the bumper. its like almost an inch to high.

I have lowered my hood latch(lock), same thing and its ever harder for it to catch the lock.

when my stock hood was on, it would be slightly lifted on the drivers side due to the JWT intake filter for the TT kit.

Is this the 07 ts hood? if its the 03-06 seibon cf ts hood than that fitment issue has been an issue to people before. on my buddy's ts hood you can see the inside of his engine bay if you tried. didn't stop me from buying one though and mine fits much better. luck of the draw i guess.

doesnt matter how secure it is the latch hook on the carbon fiber hoods are weakly attached. get any good mount of air under that hood and its has a decent chance of flying open while you are driving, causing your windshield and roof to get pwned. thats thousands of dollars of damage not mention how dangerous it is to the driver.

Try removing the battery cover and the cover on the other side and the strut bar. See if that helps.

^ i'll do that. even thought it closes the battery cover and brake oil cover will space to spare, it might be the strut bar.

maybe I should put some powder in the inner of the hood and try closing it, and lift it back up, and I will see where the marks were.

very common issue unfortunately. Some fit better than others, and it's been like that since the day the first of these hoods came out.

This is not a top secret replica...they just call it "TS".

Yes, Top Secret parts have excellent fit and finish

its near perfect close to the dash, but I guess I can pull it towards the nose and see what happens

sometimes when a composite hood is laying flat (at the warehouse), it will want to flatten out. especially when its warm weather. after all, it's just plastic!

I just installed the 07+ TS hood and when we first installed it it wouldn't seem to go all the way down. When you push down on it does it go down further and just not latch completely down (lock)? Or is there resistance like it is pressing against something? We played with the latch a little bit, but in the end we had to let it down slowly until it catches on the latch then press down very firmly and it latches completely. Other than that the fitment is perfect.

Before I got the hood I didn't realize the problem with the OEM latch failing. I hate hood pins but will probably invest in them just in case....

I got the same hood and same issue. I modified my battery and fluid covers to sit lower so the vents of the hood don't hit the covers. People that have this hood have to be careful when closing it. You can't drop it down to close it and latch. You have to let it sit down then use both hands to press it at the edge to latch it. If not carefully, it will developed crack across the hood.
