To anyone and everyone that has any experience with carbon fiber hoods. I recently found a Seibon TS hood that had a bit of an accident. The hood had been run over by a fork lift, resulting in a couple spider cracks in the front of the hood, and a broken latch. I am having the latch replaced already, but my real question: is there any way to get the spider cracks out of the hood? A body shop told me that i might be able so sand off all the clear coat and have that redone. I just want your alls opinion.
Thanks in advance to anyone with helpful imput.

No, there is not a way to get the cracks out of the hood. You should be able, to have it primed and painted, however, as long as the damage isn't horrible. And even if it is, you can always glas over those areas. Good luck!

how is there no way to get the cracks out of the hood? isnt it just the clear coat that would be cracked, and if so, couldnt i wet and off the clear coat and have it resprayed?
If you know what to do, then why ask the question?
I don't know how deep the cracks are, but if they are just on the surface then yes, it can be sanded off and recleared. But that is unlikely; chances are the cracks will go down to the carbon fiber fabric itself, in which case it is not repairable. Well, at least if you intend on keeping the bare CF look. As I said before, it's very fixable if you are willing to glass in the damaged areas--but you would have to paint it at that point.
Even IF it's just surface scratches, you have to be damn careful when sanding; it's easy to get down to the fabric, which will just tear it up.
