Going aftermarket after an accident
This post could have gone in two different forums, so I apologize if I chose the wrong one. Over the weekend, I had a Mustang lodge itself into my ***-end and push me into the Fusion that I was stopped behind at a red-light. I'm going in for the estimate tomorrow (thankfully the girl's dad was very honest and on the ball with his insurance claim) and I'm having them cut me a check so that my step-brother and I can do the work ourselves out of the shop he works for. So I'm thinking that perhaps now would be a great time to finally make her shine.
What I'm curious about, is what kind of prices I can expect to be quoted for oem front fascia, rear fascia, hood, and rear light housings (considering they would also need to be installed and painted obviously)? I'll know soon enough, but I'd like to see what kind of budget I'm looking at so I can research as thoroughly as possible.
The other thing I'm curious about, is whether its a good idea to go straight into a body kit after an accident like this? It seems to me that starting without a perfect slate could lead to a really hard time getting a proper fit because you don't have a perfect oem part to work as a reference when putting any mounting hardware back in place. I dunno, haven't actually done body work myself.
Tips, comments?

first off make sure your frame and what not are not bent in any way... second- go aftermarket. every piece oem or aftermarket is going to about the same price from the factory, so why not make it look nice?

Definitely. I'm a bit concerned about the frame because my hatch has to be opened by hand with a bit of a pop now. The door ajar light is on too but perhaps that is from the hatch? But yea, my bro is a great mechanic so he'll get all the details worked out for sure. Their shop just put in a paint studio last year so I'll be able to get it all done there :woot:
So far I'm looking at BRS Autodesign Style 2 Widebody as my top choice. Not sure how it will look on the Rays Track wheels with spacers until I got some wheels with a proper offset though.

Any thoughts on Amuse with an Ings rear?
Or vertex, but I feel like its a bit boring.
Basically, I want the replica Amuse kit but I need a full rear.
