Default Tint

I recently got my winows tinted and a few days later I noticed the corner of the drivers side window peeling near the mirror. I think this is due to the window rolling down when the door opens. Has anyone else had this issue? My tint guy is gonna retint for me but I dont want the same issue. Any suggestions?

usually that only happens if you roll your windows down without letting the window fully dry, which usually only takes at the most a couple days, but they recommend not rolling the windows down for a week to be on the safe side. either that or he didn't get all the way into the corner with his squeegee. either way it's good he's redoing it for you, cause it doesn't take long for the whole piece of film to end up inside your door.

Same here I just ignore mine. To lazy to get it fixed. BTW the real way is to take your window fuse out when new tint is installed so the windows don't roll down when you open your door.

the guy who did mine used a heat gun to dry it faster, since the windows raise/lower when you open/close the door. Never had a problem with peeling off

that will cause the window to hit the car, and maybe crack or bust the window.

+1 on the heat gun idea. You can buy them cheap at Sears.

most likely it wasn't fully squeegeed when first applied. you only need to wait two days max after a tint job. one week is overkill.

no, because on my old car when i got the windows tinted by installed told me not to manually roll down the windows for a coupel of weeks to prevent that from happening. had the car for 3 years after that and no problems at all.

this could also be a result of a crappy install

Your tint guy wasn't very good then. I had mine done in the morning and was able to put them down that evening w/o a prob. He removed the window fuse and used a heat gun on the lowest edge to prevent that while it was drying.

Thanks for the replys it was redone without issue. Pulling the winow fuse is a great idea.
