Freakin' pissed!
I was driving down a residential area this evening, with no cars around me at all, and I hear this loud "crack!" right by my door. As soon as I heard it I knew it was not good and started to yell all sorts of obscenities. I stopped, turned around, got out of the car and saw "it." "It" is a nice rock chip and a little dent on my driver's side door; the dent is relatively small, but noticeable and the chip is not quite 1/4" x 1/4".
The freaking car is like 3 weeks old only and I just clay barred, waxed, polished, and sealed the paint this past weekend! To top it all off I even had installed a custom clear bra kit, which is the basic Venture Shield kit plus the full hood!
Looks like now, I'll have to visit a paintless dent repair place and read up on touch up painting techniques! Does anyone know if paintless dent repair works well on small dents?
BTW, since there were obviously no moving vehicles on the road which could have kicked up this rock in my direction, I am about 99% sure it was these damn kids who play around that area - Im guessing they threw the rock or shot it with a sling shot or something. It was dark when it happened though and I didnt see any kids that I could place blame on so oh well I guess...

LovemysilverZ's ways of wisdom:
I say this all the time, if it hurts your wallet then it hurts you...
To me it sounds like if the little ****ers are shotting rocks, they intending to do damage. the damage is obviously expensive and who knows if it will ever be the same again because it is a brand new car....
Heres what you do:
1) buy a sling-shot.
2) Keep your eyes peeled for local hoodloom gatherings
3) Track ONLY the suspected group down: Night time prefferbly
4) In a non noticable area, aim for the face and pelt the **** out of the bastards... With the intent to hurt them
And thats what I call a fair game!

I bet a pellet gun will hurt more and you can probably aim better.
Damn that sux, I had some little pr icks through a hand full of rocs against my wind shield and passenge side. I didnt do the paintless fix but I did try touchup and it never matches right and you will allways know its there. Save on touchup paint and just bite the bill at the body shop. You will be happier in the long run. God knows I would have been.

Yeah oh well for all those kids on the block, cuz now you have to beat the crap out of all of them to be sure you got the real culprit lol. I wouldnt fix anything just yet though...your car is new and you"ll probably get a few more minor chips here and there, so I would just wait until they have accumulated a little more and then fix them all one time.

I had a Camaro before my Z that I took to a paintless dent repair service. Dent Wizard if there is one in your area, as they are a chain.
I had a small dent on the rear driver quarter panel that "Somehow" appeared. It was about the size you described, but it didn't really break the paint. They had it looking as good as new in 45 minutes and for just over $100. They can even do small paint repairs as well and guarantee the work. They take insurance if you were going to go that route too.
I would follow lovemysilverZ's advice above all. You can fix the dent in your car, but the scars you put on a kids head from a slingshot will last forever.
