I got my taillights smoked on my SB and it really looks very nice. I love it. I'm gonna get my reverse/signal lights smoked also when I get a chance. I think this mod only looks good on dark cars.

For the 350Z, smoking your tail light WILL result in LESS light output.

If you are going to smoke your lamps, you're probably best off not messing with anything spray-can like. The best way to have a light coated is by taking them to a body shop and having them sprayed. Atleast, the paint a body shop uses is high quality and they can clearcoat it to ensure that the lamps wont fade.

I wouldnt touch any over the counter spray can rubbish.

mine was actually painted. I don't know exactly what kind of paint he used but it turned out pretty damn good. I think he used the same paint as they would for the body, he works at a body shop.

old_s13...the light output didn't change. I still get the same output as the stock lights, night or day.

here's another pix...i'll take a picture of it at night so you guys can see it.

You could just pinstrip them.. Makes them look tinted from a distance.. With the easy ability to remove the pinstriping with ease..

I saw them on a white 350z at the meet in Paramus and thought it looked nice, plus you can just peel them off if you get tired of it.

dwende170, in almost all cases I've seen there is a reduction in lightput. How MUCH, varies depending on the methods in which it was sprayed.

Anytime a filter is added in front of your light source, there will be less light. If you tint your windows, there will be less light. Even if you compare a clear lens vs a red lens, there is a difference in light output -- more light will pass through the clear lens; thats just the nature of the beast.
