Default Greddy front lip problem

I got my Greddy front lip last put and had it painted this week. I dropped my car off Thursday to get the lip installed by the man who does all my body work. Heres the problem: The shop is an hour and a half from where I live and he called today saying the lip will not fit. That it will stretch but it feels like it is goin to break. I personally don't know much about bodywork but the lip is poly not fiberglass so I figured its flexible enough to fit. Has anyone else had problems installing this lip? If so how was the problem resolved? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

I had this installed on my car and my buddy actually just put it on his. You have to:

1. Start by slipping it on from the bottom
2. When the lip gets high enough that the center section is touching the bottom of the bumper bendin it out and pop it up over the bottom part of the bumper.
3. Use the screws for the inner fender wells to secure it on.

That lip fit very tight and it is made from urethan so it will bend a lot!!!! You can actually have a person hold each end and twist it and it will not break.

It is quite a pita to get it on though....

one thing I would like to note also is if this was not sitting around for awhile there is a chance the paint might bubble due to the gasses that seep out of the plastic and get stuck behind the clear coat. Mine bubbled 2 months after I had it on and the shop re painted it for me for free.

thanx for the help guys...I went to the shop and saw the problem today...it actually fits around the bumper but its like all the angles are wrong. the bends on the lip don't match the bends on the bumper so there is gaps everywhere and the middle piece that meets up with the grill is about 1 1/2 half off on either side so i'm not sure what i'm goin to do

Is the lip for an '03-'05 front bumper and you have an '06-'08 bumper?

"o so icy z" My friend just installed it on his z and he has '06 just like me ( I live w/ the gaps until i got a do-luck kit ) all he did was take a heat gun while it was on the bumper and heat it up and clamped it to the bumper and it took the shape pretty well. Thats one nice thing about urethane, but don't heat it to much so that it starts to bubble..... about the gaps where the center piece is..... we just left them.... its all about what you like. The only other thing that you can do is grab an '05 and before and then mount your lip up. you can also see pics of my Z on my myspace..... myspace.com/ blck350z ( take out the spaces )

My lip felt like that too. I have a veilside rep. Its almost like it's 1/4" too short. Once you get it slipped over which is scary doing so, put a couple bolts in, it holds really well. They are designed to be exactly the right size so when your slipping them on they do bend open a bit before it's in exactly the right place.

Just push it on, mine didn't break even though I thought it would. They are a lot more durable than you think. Once it's on it will hold on really well and not move which is why they are so tight. Don't wanna be driving down the road with the damn thing flopping all over the place.
