in my 04 6mt you can change the rpm i dont know if its the transmission or what not, but i think you should be able to change the rpm with the lower button on the right side of the speedometer.

i dont think the auto trannies have shift lights anyways
Anyways i am 99% sure you have nothing to worry about. Should be the same wiring. The only difference is where the redline part is. 03-05 is 6.5k and 06 is 7k.
now 07-09 you do need to worry about it, cause the tach goes up to 9000 while 03-06 goes to 8000.
Wait... i just read why your doing this.. now im confused...
What are you trying to do or change?

got you... you can use a mt for your car. The proccession computer is that little white box behind your hvac controls.... the button on the cluster is just a button. You won't notice.
I didnt know there was a difference in the 06 and up clusters... what is it.
I dont know if you would be interested but i think am going to start going color conversion for the z for some people. It will look like this....
or what ever color you want

You want to change the gauge cluster or the whole dash?
From the way your post was constructed I would advise you to do some research and use the site search function, this is alot more complicated than you think.
I'm not sure about the cluster, but if you want to change the center console, you will need to change the entire setup from the triple-gauge cluster to the cup holder past the emergency brake.

but also you wouldnt have a screen for your tiptronic gear but there would be a not working shift light. I have a slight feeling the shift light would turn on when you have it in tiptronic mode. Like stay on but no LCD to make the number. Not like a shift light.
What is the difference in years for the cluster... i cant fiqure it out?
