Default Fcked up Reflectors

So I decided to black out my reflectors with matte black spray paint. After I had finished spraying, I let it dry for a couple hours and popped them back into the front bumper. The first one fit just fine, but the second one didnt go in so easily and got scratched up and chipped. What kind of sandpaper should I use to strip the paint and re-spray? I tried wetsanding to see if I could smooth it out but it got worse. Basically I want to redo the job and paint it again, making it look nice and new. Thanks ahead for the answers

Try something that says it's suitable for plastic and use 800 grit or so to scuff up the surface first.

I did buy paint that was plastic compatible and I scuffed up the reflectors before painting, but they still chipped. There are a couple of coats of paint on the reflectors, with a few chips and scratch marks, should I just use 800 grit to sand the rest of the paint all off? Or just smooth it out and paint over the left over paint?

i used those scuff pads that the body shop uses at the dealership,
they have different levels of roughness but i used the green ones
which i think would be fine for taking the paint off so you can start from scratch

They sell blacked out reflectors on ebay for like $15. I'm sure you've spent more than that in supplies and time.

I did mine up, ghetto style......left them on the car. Luckily I didn't screw it up.

I would think some very fine grit sandpaper and steel wool would work out to smooth yours down.

PS - yes I know my offsets are terrible, car has been lowered since that pic and those crappy TSWs are going away soon.

I don't know why people are so lazy. You remind me of this kid:

<a href="https://my350z.com/forum/exterior-and-interior/336575-all-interior-all-black-project-pics-inside.html" target="_blank" >All Interior, All black, project pics inside</a>

It took me 20-25 minutes to take mine out & replace them with clear reflectors.
