As for your hatch, the resin cracks can be carefully repaired by any competent composite shop. However if you can get a replacement at no cost, other than time, go for it.

Wow, ive had just the opposite experience from the ones i have seen in person.

Ive def heard more bad things about Mastergrade quality than i have Seibon.

I can't imagine Seibon having worse fitment than my Mastergrade hatch. Even after I modified the hinges and the latch, fitment would still be a 6/10. It sits there and closes... and thats about all I can say. One side had a 1+ inch gap and the other side sat 3/4 of an inch too high. The glass could not tuck under the roof when trying to open it. Even after adjustment, the moulding still binds underneath the roof sometimes. The finish was great but I would check fitment on that hatch. Mastergrade is too inconsistent to trust just on looks of the product off the car alone.

I wish you luck. Hope this gets resolved for you.

Got any pictures? I have the mastergrade hatch also, having some issues, just want to see how yours looks like.

See?

There stuff is garbage besides the TS diffuser, but its hard to fak up the fittment on that. Thats why i thought someone else made the authentic Asuka stuff, i never thought Asuka would go to Mastergrade first for production.

All Seibon OEM's I have seen in person fit nearly perfectly, EXCEPT the rear middle of the hatch catches the roof just a tad, but more than plenty of room to still open the hatch without hurting anything.

Ive heard and seen one too many horror stories of MG stuff arriving scratched to shet or problems with the clear or bad fittment. Seibon is by no means the industry standard, but they are def more consistent than MG.

Hate to say it, but I told you so. I tried everything in my power to make you realize you shouldn't buy from Boomer, but you refused to listen and blew me off. Should've went with the Asuka hatch as I mentioned. It's cheaper and they offer customer service.

Best of luck getting a replacement

Customer service eh? where'd my $675 go, Jim? Customer service isnt selling a product for near $700 and then never speaking to the customer again.
99% sure i will not get a response from you. Please, i would LOVE to be wrong in this case.

So I got this message from Boomer of Mastergrade: i seen the pictures, i can't really tell how it happened. We inspect our product very well before we ship it out, we also pack it very well so it won't get damaged. We would send you used or junk parts. The ball is in your park, if your not satisfied we can reship another hatch. Ship that one back and I will refund the cost. Call me if you need help setting it up.

This sounds great, but I have a lot of apprehension just sending it back because who can tell how long it will take, and if the new one will be any better.

dont mean to hijack with my prev post. OP, been working on a refund with boomer for 6-7 weeks now, at least you have something to show for your money spent. I wish you luck man

I no longer work for Mastergrade, therefor there is nothing I can do to help your cause. I tried to warn Chris before placing his order, but he chose not to listen. If you need Boomer's number/e-mail I'd be happy to give it to you, but like I mentioned I left Mastergrade almost 2 months ago now.

Jack, on September 16th I got an email from you regarding the products I was interested from with Mastergrade. On 9-24-09 you told me that you are no longer employed with the company. So, when you say you left almost 2 months ago (would have been about mid August) does that mean you were trying to scam me when you were trying to sell me Mastergrade parts mid-Sept.?

Either way, you didn't leave me much of a choice. I was ready to make the purchase and you disappeared from communication for a few days. You no longer had my trust as a vendor because honest business people don't leave their customers hanging without a clue...

It's Jim, not Jack. I quit a few days after having contact with you (I believe it was the very middle of September) I would think red flags would go up when I tell you I left because I hadn't been paid in some time and when I quoted you $800 or so and you ended up paying $950. I wasn't even trying to sell you the hatch after I left Mastergrade, I was simply trying to "hook you up" as you were somewhat local to me. I told you to go through Peter at Auto Infantry (Me not making a sinlge cent) and you didn't listen. I was trying to help you, but no hard feelings on my end. I wish you the best of luck in getting a good hatch and everyone else getting their parts or refunds.

Just wanted to keep this up top with updates on the situation.

I'm glad that Boomer is talking to me trying to work this out and get to a conclusion that is good for both of us, but it is really taking a long time...

I understand that they are MANUFACTURING the parts, so it's not an instant thing, and I understand that he is running a business so he doesn't have a lot of free time.

Of course also there's SEMA - Boomer was at SEMA out of town for a few days so that's going to slow everything down as well.

However, on Oct. 28th, I received a message from Boomer stating: "I will update you soon, with a confirmation on delivery date and ship date... i'm 100% sure I can get it to you by early next week"

This got me pretty excited, but "early next week" came and gone relatively quickly. It is now 15 days later and I finally got another note from Boomer. He said he will be calling me tomorrow to discuss matters.

I really have no idea what he has to say to me.

No it wasn't offered, but I haven't asked yet. And realistically, I don't want my money back - I want that hatch.

I will actually be heading out to His shop to check on the status of some other pending orders that were placed with his company. One of which has taken over months, CF B pillars. He said they were shipped but no luck. Customer hasn't received it.

I finally had a type I hood last week thanks to Brad (Asuka). Mastergrade had a deal to make 4 of them and I had the first one. Now I ship it out and the shipping company calls and tells me they had an issue with the package and I find out that the whole bottom right corner has been taken out. It looks like a shark literally bit off the corner. Now the customer has decided to take a refund because it really did take way to long for all this to happen which is understandable on his part.

Its hard dealing with mastergrade because you can't get the products anywhere else.

I was doing most of my communicating with Boomer on Facebook believe it or not and today I see that his account is closed and gone.

Why are these guys so impossible to deal with sometimes??

Mastergrade is DONE and out of business................... I believe Asuka owns all their molds, and any parts left.
