Issues with new Mastergrade CF Hatch
I have a new theory:
Boomer sold me a hatch that was already damaged, both scratched from the manufacturing process and cracked from poor handling or a previously damaged product.
This way he recovers some lost profit from a bad deal. Then when he ships it he claims he had no idea it was broken and promises again and again to help me out.
He continues to string me along until it's too late and the business goes under, which he was aware was going to happen.

Don't believe it until it's proven. Boomer was doing everything he could to rectify the company under a different name. The website (www.MastergradeMotorsport.com) was owned and built by myself. Boomer asked me permission to add his cell phone number to the website, next thing I knew he had changed the company name on the site to "feather weight design". When confronted, he said there was no way to clear the Mastergrade name and was looking to change the company name and try to merge with another company.
Perry, one of the owners of Asuka, is the previous owner to Mastergrade. Boomer was making the molds for Asuka for the longest time. After Boomer owned Brad and Perry thousands of dollars, Asuka split from Mastergrade and took their manufacturing overseas. This pissed Boomer off ROYALLY, I don't see any way those two companies would ever do business again. Last I heard Brad was working on a lawsuit to sue Boomer....along with a few others I have been told.
Just wanted to keep this up top with updates on the situation.
I'm glad that Boomer is talking to me trying to work this out and get to a conclusion that is good for both of us, but it is really taking a long time...
I understand that they are MANUFACTURING the parts, so it's not an instant thing, and I understand that he is running a business so he doesn't have a lot of free time.
Of course also there's SEMA - Boomer was at SEMA out of town for a few days so that's going to slow everything down as well.
However, on Oct. 28th, I received a message from Boomer stating: "I will update you soon, with a confirmation on delivery date and ship date... i'm 100% sure I can get it to you by early next week"
This got me pretty excited, but "early next week" came and gone relatively quickly. It is now 15 days later and I finally got another note from Boomer. He said he will be calling me tomorrow to discuss matters.
I really have no idea what he has to say to me.

Also, it's nothing new for Boomer to go to Vegas...SEMA or not. He has a SEVERE gambling problem. On my count, he would drive to vegas atleast 2 weekends out of the month. Rumor has it that is why we were having sch a hard time fulfilling orders that were paid in full months ahead of time.

If it is true, then why is Eric stating that Asuka paid Boomer to make 4 Asuka hoods for them...when they took over Mastergrade? It doesn't add up.
Also, why is ShowstoppersUSA (Boomers biggest reseller) still getting Mastergrade parts from Boomer on a weekly basis. (Check Ebay if you don't believe me)
********** (3:20:40 PM): someone was saying Mastergrade closed and Asuka bought the molds
ShowStoppersUSA (3:20:57 PM): haha no

HAHA, Boomer opened up an Ebay store under one of the many names he planned on switching the company to. "Carbon Direct"
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MASTE...Q5fAccessories
You may have luck calling that number.

Dude, my hatch fitment was the poorest I ever seen! I dealt was many companies in my day and was told that Mastergrade was top notch!
Closed, notice the gap!

Notice how my whole driver is shifted up!

The issues you have, I would've love to have instead of the poor fitment. My bodyman had to pretty much make a make a whole new mounting bracket. This was after many failed attempts of listening to the advice of the manufactures. Not to mention my piece feels like it uncleared, some people think I have that new "dry carbon" hatch, lol
Good Luck

Dude, good fuking luck! The responses I was getting back was "simply move the hatch forward", its not that easy! The hatch is screwed in into the hinges, so we tried remounting the hinges closer, making the holes bigger on the actual hatch & installing washers all to no avail! We tried so many times that the damn thing was splitting apart on the underside. What he ending up doing was to remove the hinges on the hatch all together place a metal strip to where the new hinges were going to be and remounted, looks factory.
TSG-Z, Your pictures could have been my car. EXACT same gap problem with driver side worse than passenger side. A small fix is to flip the hinge. Take both off, drill out the pin going through the hinge, and then use a nail as a new pin (unless you can salvage the one you have). The gap will be improved greatly but still far from perfect. Over the next few days I plan to take the hatch off and redrill the studs that are used to mount it. Once I figure out something to make this darn thing fit, I'll post up some pics of my experiences. It's funny that this thread is getting so much attention recently. I had this junk on my car for over a year now and it wasn't until this Fall that I have the desire to fix it.
If anyone has come up with any other solutions, please share. It's becoming clear that there was some common mold error that plagued a batch of these hatches.

Please do! We should have a tri-state mastergrade cf hatch meet, lol.
