Default aftermarket shift ****

came in the mail today, and last night i tried turning the **** on it currently *stock* and it turned relatively easy

if its just the **** itself will it hurt the tranny to spin it off without taking the whole thing off and clamping the rod so that it doesnt twist up the transmission?

i read on google that it can mess the transmission up if you just twist it

Yea it could.
It isn't that difficult, just pop the console up a bit get some vice grips in there to clamp it and you're good to go.
No sense in possibly damaging your tranny to save 10 seconds

If it's never been removed before, you'll probably eff it up unless you have super hulk hands with pillow fingertips. I vice gripped the rod and pliered the ****...aaaaaaaaaaand ripped it up. But whatevs. I love my new ****.

anyways I tried twisting it with some gloves and it wouldn't budge, I don't want to destroy my cd009 so I am just going to stick with the stock shift **** and get a booby ball over it like so

Mine came off with a little force by hand. Not enough to require using a clamp on the shaft. Maybe nissans workers just got lazy on some days with the thread lock?
